I Rolled a Critical Miss

The Tenga Rolling Head Cup doesn't offer any improvements on standard masturbation. It doesn't feel particularly great, can't be re-used, and even its cooler functions like suction and the rolling head don't add much to its effectiveness. Your money would be better spent by buying a Tenga Egg or saving up for a Fleshlight.

Use

The Tenga Rolling Head Cup is a one-use-only male masturbation device. It's a stroker-style toy, meaning it's meant to be moved up and down on the penis, as an enhancement of the man's hand. It's long enough to stimulate both the head and shaft of the penis, though the real estate it can cover will be determined by how long you are - my boyfriend's penis is 6 inches long and he could fit it all into this cup, but you might not be able to if you're much longer than that.

One alternate use for stroker toys is to help men who have "death grip syndrome" by preventing them from applying too much pressure to their penis, and thereby allowing them to learn how to orgasm under normal conditions (i.e. during sex with a partner). This cup would work well for this.

This toy can be used alone or with a partner, though it might not be terribly exciting for partner use because you can't see the penis when it's in action. It's also not a very quiet toy (my boyfriend describes the sounds it makes as a repeated "pfft") so it might not be good if you need to be extremely discreet.

Material / Texture

The Rolling Head Cup's outer casing is made of hard plastic. The inside is made of TPE, so it's plushier and squishier, and is similar in texture and feel to a Tenga Egg.

It's possible that the toy materials may have a smell or a taste, but it's hard to tell because the smell of the lube is overpowering. My boyfriend describes it as a "slightly toxic" scent.

In between the plastic casing and the inner TPE sleeve, there's some spongy material to protect the delicate sleeve from external impact and to make the toy more comfortable to use.

There are many little ridges embedded in the inner sleeve, for textural stimulation, but my boyfriend describes this texture as "very 'meh.'" He preferred the texture of the Tenga Eggs he's tried (the Clicker and Wavy).

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

If your penis is 7 inches or longer and you like the feeling of being fully enveloped, this cup isn't for you. It won't be long enough to take your entire length. My boyfriend's penis is 6 inches and he fit comfortably and fully, but he felt he was almost hitting the end of the cup.

If the toy's cap is on, it doesn't particularly look like a sex toy unless the person looking at it is familiar with Tenga products. It doesn't have any metal parts and it's fairly compact, so it might be suitable for travel if you could sufficiently protect it in your suitcase or bag to prevent it from getting squished, or from cracking open and spilling lube everywhere (maybe store it in a plastic bag surrounded by clothing?).

The toy makes some wheezy noises in use without the suction function in use, and makes a wet sucking sound when the suction is being used. For this reason, it's not the subtlest of toys to use when you have roommates, family, etc. around.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The toy is easy to hold and move up and down the penis. My boyfriend had never used a male masturbation toy other than Tenga Eggs before, so this one took a bit of getting used to because it's bigger and bulkier, but was not difficult to use.

The "rolling head" feature provides almost no difference in feeling. Rolling it around didn't seem to do much. On the plus side, when my boyfriend is masturbating, he prefers to "bend" his penis so that it curves upwards a little, and the flexible rolling head allowed for this somewhat, but not to the extent that he would have preferred.

There is a suction function which is controlled by holding a finger over a hole on the top of the toy. When employed, this function allows the toy to have a firmer grip on the penis and makes it more difficult to move the toy up and down; this might be enjoyed by guys who like suction during blowjobs or a firm grip in general. My boyfriend didn't particularly enjoy the sensation, though, because he preferred when the toy slid up and down easily, rather than sucking and tugging at his penis.

Care and Maintenance

The Rolling Head Cup is a disposable item, intended for one use only. We've been able to use Tenga Eggs more than once by turning them inside-out and rinsing them out after use, and then leaving them out to dry; however, it's much more difficult to do this with the Cup. It's hard or impossible to remove the sleeve and turn it inside-out without damaging the toy in some way.

It seems like a huge waste of materials to make one-use-only masturbation toys that are so bulky and likely not recyclable.

Tenga recommends using only water-based lubes with its products, though this toy isn't going to be in your collection for very long, so it doesn't really matter if you mess it up with silicone-based lube.

Personal comments

This toy made my boyfriend come, but he didn't particularly enjoy it. It didn't feel as good as his hand, unlike Tenga Eggs which feel like an improvement upon his hand. He says this toy will be a waste of money for most people, and that the Tenga Eggs are better overall (less expensive, feel better, and can be re-used much more easily).

We haven't tried any Fleshlight products, but they seem like a much better choice than a Tenga cup, if you're able to invest the money.
Follow-up commentary
We definitely would not buy this toy again, or any other toy from Tenga's line of disposable cups. This was a very unsatisfying experience for my boyfriend.

I am glad I finally got to write my first 1-star review, though! Haha.
