Spartacus Enterprise’s Leather Oiltan Cock Ring is a black leather cock ring with a two snap closure that can be adjusted for two different levels of restriction. The black leather has a very masculine look and the company logo on both receiving snaps adds to the finish of the strap. It may take some work and discomfort to get in place, but once there, it does its job nicely and looks cool. And when you’re done, taking it off is a “snap”.

Use

Ahhh, the joys of the cock ring. Primarily designed to increase erection and delay ejaculation, but can look cool in the process. Spartacus Enterprise’s Leather Oiltan Cock Ring does a good job on the former while really going after the latter. It’s a pretty simple piece, really – a ½” wide black leather strap with the bottom of two snaps on one end and the top of three snaps on the other to allow for adjustment. How well it works is going to work depends upon how much discomfort the wearer is willing to inflict upon himself. Once in place, however, it does its job admirably.

Material / Texture

The Oiltan Cock Ring is leather with metal snaps. Each of the receiving snaps has the Spartacus logo etched into it which is a nice touch and adds to the overall appearance of the piece. The outside of the leather is finished and has a nice matte look and feel to it. The inside of the leather is left rawer with the natural leather texture. Since this side is not seen once the strap is in place, this is okay. The increased texture of the inside probably prevents unwanted movement as well, so it’s not a bad thing, in that regard.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

The overall length of the Oiltan Cock Ring is 8” which may be its biggest downfall. Add another receiving snap and make it a little bit longer and it would probably appeal to a wider male audience because it would allow for greater stability and adjustment. If both receiving snaps are fastened onto the first two bottom snaps, it results in an inside diameter of about 2”. If the second and third bottom snaps are used you’d be lucky to get 1 ¾” diameter inside. These measurements are on the more advanced side of things and will require some discomfort to really get into. Additional settings are available using only one receiving snap, but these come at the cost of stability as the strap is more apt to pivot and/or release when only one snap is applied.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for leather products is always tricky. Luckily they are not normally meant for penetration, so they don’t normally get in the middle of everything which helps them to stay cleaner, generally, and the Oiltan Cock Ring is no exception. There is sort of a love/hate relationship with lube though. As it functions as a cock ring, it tends to pull the skin of the penis tighter which means more lubrication is necessary to keep penetrative activities comfortable. On the other hand, cleaning off lubes that may require soap proves to be difficult while trying to preserve the leather finish. It is probably advisable to stick to water based lubricants and try not to get too crazy with them. If anything does get on the Oiltan Cock Ring, then it should be wiped off with a damp cloth and a mild soap can be used on it if necessary.

Packaging

The packaging for the Oiltan Cock Ring is pretty simple. It comes in a stiff plastic package with a cardboard insert. The insert gives some basic information and warnings about the use of cock rings. The information is useful and the warnings are right on the money, as wearing tight cock rings for extended periods of time can cause permanent damage.

Personal comments

I really think the enhancement that would take this cock ring to the next level would be to lengthen it by ¾” and add a third receiving snap. This would allow for a third stable setting which might be better suited for less experienced cock ring users.

Experience

After using the Oiltan Cock Ring a few times, there are a couple of tips I’d like to toss out. First, as with most cock rings, it is easier to put on while completely flaccid. If the blood flow has already started, it is going to require greater effort and cause more discomfort to get it on. Second, it definitely worked better for me at the tighter setting. It restricted the blood flow out of my penis better which resulted in an easier to achieve and harder erection. It also allowed for a delay in ejaculation.

Great review, but I have an odd question that doesn't reflect on your review at all. What kind of metal, exactly, is the snaps made of? My husband breaks out when his skin is directly exposed to any metal other than surgical steal, gold, silver, etc. I just wonder about these things. Allergies....Wondering

I have started a forum post to see if I can have Spartacus provide some more information about the metal used in the snaps. I asked generally as well, so maybe we can get some information on more than just this one product. Good question!
