Use

This is a metal cock ring, designed to wrap around your cock and balls to make your erection firm. I'd consider this a ring for more advanced users, who have are ready to move beyond the world of stretchy rings.

The package provides no instructions for use, but hopefully most of you will have some idea of how to use a cock ring. With this kind of ring it is easiest to put it on before getting an erection. First put your testicles through the ring, one at a time, then slip your flaccid penis through the loop. You may find this easier with a bit of lube, and you're less likely to have any painful pulling of hair if you shave (or at least trim) your cock and balls first.

Material / Texture

The ring is made from an alloy of unspecified metals. Based on its light weight, I'd guess it's mostly aluminum. As you can probably guess, it's quite hard and unyielding, perfect for trapping blood in the penis for rock-hard erections. At the same time, its lack of weight makes it seem less intimidating than heavier cock rings.

The texture is completely smooth. Mine has two tiny nicks on the inner surface, but they are not really noticeable unless you're looking for them. This smoothness is helpful when it comes time to put the ring on or take it off.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

The ring is available in several sizes, with mine being at the small end, only 1.5 inches in diameter. This actually proved to be a bit too small for me, so keep in mind that you absolutely must measure yourself to find out what size will work for you.

Another problem I had, which I would have had even at a larger size is that the band is about 3/4 of an inch wide. With a penis on the shorter end of average, this means the ring reduces my usable length noticeably. This isn't much of a concern for guys with seven inch dicks, but for me this is a big negative in the design. I'd prefer something which wouldn't cover up as much of my penis.

Care and Maintenance

It's metal, so it's easy to care for this ring. Use any lube you want, as nothing should hurt this ring.

You have lots of options for cleaning metal, from simple soap and water all the way up to boiling it to sterilize it.

Packaging

The packaging is simple and easy-to-open. There are no usage instructions provided whatsoever, which may leave some purchasers confused as to how to put it on. The only information on the package aside from the size information is a statement that it is for novelty use only and this scary warning: "Any product use for medical purpose or for a use that has an adverse effect on any function of the body is prohibited."

I guess their lawyers are trying to avoid responsibility for anyone who leaves it on too long, but this statement is patently absurd. The entire point of a cock ring is to trap blood in the penis to enhance erection, but that could easily be construed as a "medical purpose" so it sounds to me like California Exotic is basically telling you not to use their product!

A more responsible warning would be something along the lines of not wearing the cock ring for more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time.

Personal comments

I was unable to use the ring effectively, due to getting it in too small of a size, but that's my fault, not a problem with the ring itself.
