Maxed Out

The Maximus Glider is meant to add girth and texture to a man's penis (or a dildo) during sex. It adds both, in buckets. The girth and texture were too much for me, but others might enjoy them. The vibrations also did nothing for me, since they were not powerful and not constant. It's hard to put on, but it does stay put once it's on.

Use

The Maximus Glider is a sex toy that is meant to be put on a penis (or dildo) to add girth and texture. It also has a vibrating clitoral attachment with two settings - constant vibrations or vibrations that are activated when pressure is applied to the top of the vibrator.

This toy will probably work best for a partner who is penetrating another partner vaginally, since the texture and girth might be too much to handle anally. The clitoral attachment also probably wouldn't get anywhere near the clit if this was used during anal sex, and the material cannot be sanitized. There's also a risk that the sleeve could come off and get lost in the anal cavity. I would recommend this mostly to experienced toy users, and I'd recommend that they use a lot of lube.

Material / Texture

The Maximus Glider is made of TPR, which has a material safety rating of 7 on EdenFantasy's scale. This material is porous and should not be shared between partners without a condom.

This material is squishy, sticky, and stretchy. It's clear, although it does tend to yellow with use. There is a seam along either side of the toy, but due to the squishiness of the material, it's not felt during use.

Because it's stretchy, it can stretch to fit over a penis. The largest circumference it's supposed to fit around is 6 inches. I had a hard time fitting it onto a dildo that had a 4 inch circumference. Putting a lubricated condom on the penis or dildo before putting the Maximus Glider on does make it a little easier, and the Glider is tight enough that it won't slide around despite the condom and lube.

Because it's sticky, it's hard to put on without a lubricated condom and it's hard to put in without plenty of lube. This toy has a lot of drag.

Despite the fact that it's squishy, the texture is still very much felt during use. It has some ribbing at the top, a large bulge, and some ribbing at the bottom. This is the external portion, the part felt by the person being penetrated. The texture on this part is intense and only those who like a lot of texture will enjoy this toy. For me, the texture was too much and this toy was painful. Each part of the ribbing can be felt, then the smooth bulge, which took a lot of effort for me to be able to get inside since it's huge, then more ribbing. The ribbing created a lot of friction and a lot of sensation. The ribbing is pretty strange; there are two large ribs that stick out about 1/4" each one surrounded by two tinier ribs, with a groove in-between. Then there's a smooth bulge, the girthiest part of this toy that comes out to 1/2" on each side. The ribbing at the bottom is the same as the ribbing at the top. The internal portion is smooth. The clitoral attachment has squishy little nubbies that carry the vibrations from the vibrator, which is hard plastic and surrounded by the TPR, although it has a hole in the bottom to remove the vibrator so you can change out the batteries, change the vibration settings, or remove the vibrator to use this toy in the shower. The nubbies are tiny, about 1/8 inch long, and they add a bit of a tickle to the vibrations.

Out of the package, this only has a slight silicone smell. Once used, it has a slight tendency to retain odors (it is porous) but not so much that it becomes a problem.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

This toy covers about 4 inches of the shaft of the penis or dildo it's being worn on. On its own, it's about 1 7/8 inches in diameter, on the outside. The inside part is about 1" in diameter. When worn, it adds about 7/8 inch of diameter. I tried this on several dildos. No matter how small the dildo, the stickiness of the material makes it hard to get on the dildo. My Toy Five Small which has a diameter of 1" and a circumference of 3.5" was about the easiest to get it onto. It seemed to fit very tightly on a dildo with a 1.5" diameter, which was the largest toy I tested it on, and it might be uncomfortable for a guy with a penis girth of 1.5" diameter or more. According to the product information, this should stretch to fit a penis up to 6" in circumference. It's very stretchy and would probably stretch to fit, but it would feel very tight for the wearer. This toy is pretty tight and it pretty much deadens sensation below it for the wearer. This might be a positive aspect for a guy using it who wishes to last longer during intercourse and it might also perform the function of a cock ring in helping maintain an erection.

Externally, the first 1 inch of this toy is ribbed. Then there's a bulge, which is the widest point of this toy, that's about 1.5 inches. The other 1.5 inches of this toy are ribbed like the first inch, but only 1/2 inches of that is insertable because of the clitoral attachment. Internally, this toy is smooth.

The clitoral attachment juts out about 1.5 inches from the shaft, so this will work best for women whose clit is within 1.5 inches of their vagina. The sides are smooth and the top has little nubbies that carry the vibrations and add a little tickle. The bottom of the clit attachment has a hole. Since the material is so stretchy, this hole can be used to take out the vibrator, for changing the batteries or using this toy in water. The control for the vibrator, a switch, is located on the bottom of the vibrator and can be adjusted through this hole, although it's hard to do without looking at the toy.

    • May be too tight for some
    • Only fits on penis shaft

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrator, which is made of hard plastic, is inside the clitoral attachment of the toy. The vibrator can be taken out of the clit attachment through a hole in the bottom. The vibrator is not waterproof. It's powered by two watch batteries. When I got mine, there were two batteries already in the toy, which were dead, and two additional batteries, which worked.

The vibrations on this toy are about moderate (3 vrooms) intensity and buzzy in pitch. They weren't intense enough to be numbing but they were a little itchy. The nubbies on the clit attachment disperse the vibrations, so it's a pretty broad stimulation. As for noise level - I'd give it four bees for being rattly and loud. They don't carry far, so the wearer will feel some mild vibrations at the bottom of the toy's shaft, but no more than that. For the person being penetrated, the vibrations will only be felt part of the time, when the clit attachment is pressed against your clit as your partner's penis is deep inside of you.

The vibrations have two settings - constant vibrations and vibrations activated by applying pressure to the top of the clit attachment. The button seems pretty sensitive, but I could only get the vibrations to be activated in missionary position. There's a switch on the bottom of the vibrator which can be accessed through a little hole in the bottom of the clit attachment that turns the vibrations from one setting to another. It's hard to figure out which way to flick it without looking at it. There is no "off" setting.

Pictured below is the vibrator when it's taken out of the clit attachment:

    • Moderate vibrations
    • Not very stimulating
    • Takes two watch batteries

Care and Maintenance

For cleaning this toy, soap and water is best. The vibrator is not waterproof, so make sure to take that out first. This toy cannot be boiled and it's slightly porous, so it can't be sanitized.

This toy is compatible with water or silicone based lubricants, which you will want to use a lot of, since it has so much drag.

For storage, I keep it in a Ziploc bag in my toy chest, in case the material might react with my other toys. It's a huge lint magnet, and this also keeps it clean for its next use. Since there is no way to turn this toy off completely, the batteries will last longer if you take them out when storing the toy.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
    • Lint magnet

Packaging

The toy came packaged in a cardboard box, the same as the one depicted on the product page. It's not discreet at all, but it does have some useful information about the product. I think this toy might be a little hard to figure out for a beginner without the packaging. It's a little bulky for storage. Inside this box, the toy and two extra batteries (along with the ones already included in the toy) were in a clear plastic bag.
    • Not discreet
    • Recyclable
    • Very informative

Personal comments

The Maximus Glider just did not work for me. I tried it out several times and could not enjoy it. In fact, it was downright painful, since I'm not a girth lover. For the sake of honesty, I have to say that I only tried it out with dildos, not actual intercourse. That said, having tried it out, I have some idea of who it might work for.

Ladies: For those of you who love lots of girth (more than 2 inches in diameter) and lots of texture, this toy will add a lot of both to your intercourse. In terms of vibrations, this is for those who like broad, moderate vibrations. The vibrations won't be constant, due to thrusting in and out, so those who like patterned vibrations that stop and start may enjoy this more than those who don't.

Gentlemen: This is for those with a slender penis. It will probably be painfully tight if your cock is larger than 1.5 inches in diameter, or about 4.5 inches in circumference. It will also deaden the sensation to the area below it, but if you're looking to last longer during intercourse, then that could be a positive thing. It could also serve the function of a cock ring in helping to maintain an erection.

The texture of this sounds like it would be awful for me. I would love a decent sleeve but they all have crazy texture. This one is intense looking. Oh well. Excellent review as always.
