My Tango with the Tenga
The Tenga Egg was a fun toy for me more than a toy for my boyfriend. I loved using it on my Hitachi, but he found it to be only a bit better than using his hand. It's all mine then!Published: February 7, 2011
Pros:
-Variety
-Cheap to try
-Body safe and scent free
-Travels well
-Easy to hide

Cons:
-Could break easily at the top

The Tenga Egg is mostly advertised as a men's masturbation toy, so I can understand why it'd be a bit off for a woman to review this. If it wasn't for the lovely Red Vinyl Kitty, I might not have been excited to give it a go. But thanks to her review, I realized it could be fun for me as well- it comes in multiple different textured styles, is made (and priced) to be disposable, and because it can fit on top of your Hitachi.
There's lots of Magic Wand covers on the market, but none quite like the Tenga Egg, which is made of scent-free, body-safe elastomer. Technically it's one use only, but if you take good care of it, wash it well, and don't let your boyfriend steal it as a sleeve for him, you should be able to enjoy it for a while. We used spray-on sex toy cleaner, with the egg's texture on the outside, to clean this toy- you spray it on, let it dry, wipe with a wet cloth, rinse, and let it dry. It's not sterilizable, so don't share unless you're comfortable sharing fluids. You can basically turn it inside out and easily slip it on top of the Hitachi for a soft, lightly textured new sensation.
I got to check out the Wave style Tenga Egg. My grandmother, amusingly, was the one to open the package, and was quite curious about this plastic egg I had gotten. Eventually I had to tell her it was a sex toy, and she stopped asking for details, hehe! But that means that if you have this egg around, no one would really know what it was actually, so pretty discreet.
As a toy for the Hitachi, it definitely added a little something different to my masturbation which is nice. I like to have a lot of variety with my toys, and there's so many types of Egg that it'll be a while before I tire of them all! Having tried a couple different textures, the sensations are different but there's the same positives- easy to clean, soft against the skin, easy to put on and remove.
Considering it's a men's masturbatory toy, I reluctantly gave it over to the boy for testing it out. It took a little explaining to get him using it properly, but he turned it texture-inwards, used some thick, water-based lube, and wanked away. He mostly used it around the head of his cock (he's got a foreskin, but I don't know how much of a usage difference that makes). "Initially I was skeptical, but found it was pretty nice. It's soft, so I got to maintain a pretty tight pressure while still having that soft feeling. Though," he adds, "it's not going to replace my hand for all future masturbation sessions." He wasn't enamored of it, but didn't hate it either- it was just something different. It didn't break on him, but he wasn't terribly vigorous with it. I made him wash it right after though so I could use it again!
I've always let it air dry between cleanings- I'm not sure if putting it away wet would damage it, or if leaving it out of the egg packaging would affect the material. Maybe once I do a follow-up review I'll have that data for you.
So interestingly I found this to be a better toy for me than for him!

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
The Tenga Egg is still really useful for making my Hitachi into multiple sensations and toys, and the boy still loves using them for wanking, so yes, we are still in love!
They do wear out after a couple months - even if you wash and dry it (I pat it dry) because the end is thin, and it can eventually break. Be wary! They're not pricey, so get an extra.

Anyone have this product? Does it work well?
-
What does everyone who has it think? Do you know anyone with it?

From what I've seen, the general consensus is that the Tenga Eggs are pretty nice for the price (rhyme not intended, haha!). A lot of people recommend them to guys as first-time strokers, since they're cheap and disposable.
Before asking questions like this in the forum, though, read a few of the reviews. I find that it's usually helpful to read at least one from someone who really liked it and one from someone who didn't, so you can get an idea from both sides. :)

tenga+strap-on?
-
I don't know why, but I keep fantasizing about jerking off my strap-on/hard pack cock with a tenga egg. I feel kinda ridiculous about it but WHY NOT POST IT ON HERE (oh god my tumblr is showing)
I know some of y'all have talked about getting head on your strap-on...but this just seems a little weird. I have had fun jerking off my strap-on cock every once and a while too..
Has anybody had similar ideas/experiences? It's kinda the psychological aspect, like with getting head, I guess?
(And so it wouldn't be a waste, I'd give it to my partner to use after I've had my fun, seeing as I'm not gonna cum in it...) -
I wouldn't mind it, I'd probably like it more if my partner was the one playing with it for me though haha.

Actually I have a couple different Feeldoes, and I have thought about using our Egg on it as well. Then I reember there are better ways to get an orgasm from my Feeldoe, but eventually the need to try it will override my need for a quicker orgasm. I'll report back once I try it ;)

How does it compare to the fleshlight feeling?
-
Alan says there's no comparison; Tenga egg is more like an enhanced hand job, but the right Fleshlight is like "gettin some strange" (his words, not mine.. LOL)

Tenga Eggs and Foreskin?
-
So I'm curious because I'd love to get my boyfriend one of these. He is not circumcised, meaning he has his foreskin (thank goodness :D ) but that makes we wonder how well these would work for him. See the reason I ask is because his foreskin occasionally will get caught or pinched in a condom, and I know those are significantly tighter, but I'd hate to buy him something that ends up being uncomfortable.
Any uncut guys have experience with these toys and can give me some insight? -
I hate bumping my own posts but I'm looking for an answer ASAP... I'd like to place my order for other things tonight, and it'd be great to tack this onto the order rather than buying it separately and paying separate shipping.
-
Sorry I'm late.
My Master is also uncut and I got him a couple of Tenga eggs over the past few months. He says they're really enjoyable and they don't hurt. I do rec that your boyfriend uses lube with it, though.

Where have all the Tenga Eggs gone?
-
I'm not sure if I keep missing when these come back in stock and they just get bought up really fast or if they just aren't ordering any more. But My partner adores these eggs and would really like to try the Sparkle or Twinkle. However I've never seen them available. Anyone know what is going on with this?
-
I believe that the Tenga Sparkle and Twinkle were 2010 seasonal limited edition, so EF may not be able to get them in stock again at all. Perhaps you can file a support ticket, though, and inquire as to whether or not they will ever return to stock.

I really want to get one of both Twinkle and Sparkle for my SO, but I have yet to see them stocked myself.

Tenga Egg Material
-
I know EF has the eggs listed as being silicone but I wondered if anyone has actually flame tested one of these cute little guys.
Reason I ask is because I went searching the tenga website when someone (and I cannot for the life of me remember who) wrote a review and were unsure of the egg lotion being water or silicone based.
When I stumbled onto the tenga canada site and saw the specs for the egg it said there they are actually made of Elastomer.
So has anyone taken science into their own hands about these little suckers? -
Hmmm very interesting indeed...
We've never used one of the eggs, but I'm very interested in knowing the answer to this. Not that it would make a super huge difference simply because they're so cheap and disposable.. I wouldn't mind if it was Elastomer as opposed to silicone. I'm still gonna get one :) -
Oh for sure. It just would make a whole lot more sense right. Like why it is so disposable, why it does not seem to matter what lube you use.

Single use?
-
I'm wondering exactly why these are only single-use. I've read most of the reviews, but still do not understand exactly why (I would have commented, I just wanted to make a general discussion). Since it's silicone, shouldn't it be..? Or is it a really low-grade or soft silicone or something?
Thank you! -

Thank you!
We have one and we've only used it once so far, but the top of the egg appears to be thinning, like it will break with one or two more uses. I think it is the grade of silicone, however, I really do think they can last more than one use. Many people I know who use them get at least a few uses out of them. -
Glad someone posted on these because I'm infinitely curious about them. I hope someone does a video because I still can't get a good idea of how these work just by looking at/reading about them.

Thank you for viewing Tenga egg masturbator – sex toy review page!

Thanks for the review!
Hmm, using it on the Hitachi, interesting idea. Thanks.
I love your writing style and approach to writing this review. You might want to consider adding exactly HOW you've cleaned this toy to make it last longer (i.e., did you use soap when cleaning or do you just rinse it with water alone since the toy is so fragile? Do you just let it air dry before putting it away or did you find drying it with paper towels to be effective enough without leaving behind tons of lint?). This would make your review very, very helpful to many people.
Thanks Selective Sensualist! I'll do that.
Never thought of this on the Hitachi. Interesting idea.
"It's a sex toy, grandma."
LOL! Nice review.
@Mr. E Grandma and I have these discussions fairly often, amusingly. She's quite openminded, but some things are, understandably, a bit much!
