The Hot Rod Enhancer from California Exotic looks way too small to fit the average erect penis, but fear not, it stretches and should go on easily enough with plenty of lube. The first reaction I had when I opened the box and saw the Hot Rod Enhancer from California Exotic was that it was really small. The Enhancer is made of a phthalate-free Senso material and reminded me of the sleeve (see my review) that I have had for years. The biggest difference is the Hot Rod Enhancer is clear with six large bumps along the edge of one side and is much smaller. It looked like something my wife might enjoy, if I could get my erect penis through the tiny opening to put this thing on. So, that evening I showed it to my wife who had the same reaction. “That will never fit” she said. But, after some foreplay, plenty of lube, and some work, we got it over my penis. It turns out this thing really stretches and once I got it on, she found out she loved it. It is comfortable enough for me for short periods of time. The only problem we encountered the first time was that she said it felt really cold.
A few days later, we discovered our favorite way to use the Hot Rod Enhancer. We take a shower together. She works me up with plenty of lubricant while I warm the Hot Rod up in the running water. That way it's nice and warm when I put it on. Each time we have used this it goes on a little easier and as long as we warm it up first, my wife absolutely loves those ridges. I find it comfortable enough and seem to last a little longer than usual with it on since it works a bit like a cock ring. So far it seems to be holding up pretty well. The hole is noticeably larger after a few uses, but is still nice and tight. Even with lube, it seems to stay put wherever I situate it. I have noticed what looks like a small tear on one side of the opening, about ¼ of an inch long. It shouldn't cause any problems though.
Overall, especially given the low price, the Hot Rod Enhancer is a great addition to the small collection of toys we use together. I don't know about the term “girth enhancer” since it's not that big to start with and once it's stretched over your penis it probably doesn't add that much girth. However, the real joy seems to be in those ridges, especially if you warm it up a bit first.

First, I wouldn't say that it's painful at all to slide it off afterwards, it just feels really weird. I just try to do it quickly and get it over with. Second, when I clean it, I just use soap and water and run my fingers through each end of it to get the inside clean. I have not turned it inside out. I also have not used cornstarch on it. It's a little sticky I guess, but not much. I store it in a plastic bag, with the bag open and usually it's in the drawer of my nightstand.
Dame Demi: The Hot Rod isn't as tight as most cock rings so I can still feel something, but obviously not as much as normal. I would say the feeling is still better than any condom I've ever used. Not to say that this is birth control by any means, just using it for a comparison of feeling.
Ravenlust: The Hot Rod is thicker at the base than at the top. Unstretched, it's about 1/4 inch and gradually tapers to about 1/8 inch at the top. Stretched over my penis, it obviously thins out, but those ridges still stand out plenty.
