For many couples, a cock ring is the first foray into the world of sex toys. The thing is, most folks buy the cheap, one time use rings found at the local drug store. Use them once or twice and toss them in the trash, not really the best use of money spent, right? Plus, most of them are made out of lower quality materials and do not really perform as a cock ring should.

Well for the about the same price, the Ophoria V-ring by Lover's Choice Inc., will allow you to explore the wonderful world of cock rings. This is not any "One time use", cheap ring. No my friends, this ring is made out of one of the best materials around, comes with not one, but three sets of batteries and will last you a life time with just a little care.

For the average guy, this ring is placed around the balls and shaft. For the larger guys it may only fit around the shaft. Once in place, a cock ring will restrict the blood flow leaving the penis, much like a tourniquet. This makes the penis larger, firmer and for many, it can prolong ejaculation. If that is not enough, it has the added benefit of vibration that provides stimulation to the penis and your partner.

Out of the many materials used in the sex toy market, very few make the top of the safety scale. Silicone is one of the top three and for good reason. Depending on where you plan on using it, and the limited stretch of the silicone, some pre-planning may be needed. For use on the shaft, it is simply a matter of applying a little water or oil based lube to the inside of the ring and penis and sliding it on. For the cock and ball application, it is better to put it on while flaccid. Start with a generous helping of lube and then place one ball through the opening followed by the other. Then fold the penis down and stuff it through. This takes a bit of practice but is easily learned. Turning on the vibe is done by pushing the button located at one end of the bullet. There is only one setting, it is not a clit killer but it does provide nice stimulation to both the wearer and partner.

Silicone is a bit of a dust magnet but it is not sticky so it should not grab pubic hair during use. Still, a little bit of manscaping will go a long way to prevent any unwanted pain. Especially when putting it on or taking it off.

You can use water or oil based lube with your Ophoria V-ring but stay away from silicone lubes unless you do a spot test first.

Before cleaning, remove the bullet - it is not splash or water proof. Cleaning can be done with anti-bacterial soap and water, a bleach solution, boiling or an autoclave (we all have one of those, right?). If you plan to share this with different partners make sure you sanitize between uses.

Store your ring in a drawer or toy box. You may want to place it in a plastic bag to prevent hairs and dust bunnies. A quick rinse with water will remove any particulates that happen to attract to it.

Your new cock ring will come to you in a small plastic package. It is sealed but the back is perforated so it is easily opened. There is an insert that has some info on use and care, no naked bodies but you can see the ring on the front. The package can be used for storage.

This was a pretty good ring for me, it did not fit around the whole package but fit my shaft pretty good. The vibes were nice and traveled well through my penis. I would have liked the vibes to be stronger or maybe some different settings but over all I felt it was well worth the price. Hell, the batteries alone cost more than the ring if you buy them at the store.

I used it a few times during solo time and enjoyed the extra stimulation. I especially liked wearing it around just the balls and using a stroker.

Then came time to use it with the wife, this is where it failed, at least at first. The nubs that are inside the ring on the top area were not very comfortable when trying to press then against the wife's clit. In fact it was down right painful, the first trial was short lived.
