Penis head pump - penis pump discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by MistressDandelion

I bought the penis head pump by California Exotic Novelties in the hopes the pumping could help me slowly develop a neophallus as a pre-testosterone, pre-surgery female to male transsexual. Let's just say that this item is not made for this purpose. It won't work unless you have enough of a diclit to stick it in something. The cylinder does not adapt well to my anatomy and did not let me pump myself at all. However, used for its intended purpose, it works very well. This was my husband's first pump after I abandoned the idea of using it. It also became a good nipple pump for me.

The toy itself is handheld. It stimulates only half to a quarter of the penis, around the head. Better not stick the penis too deep in the cylinder, reaching the top could be a little painful because there is a plastic bit where the cylinder meats the air hose. You would not want your already sensitive penis head bumping into it.

This toy could be used just around everywhere. The whole thing is plastic and possibly rubber and the cylinder can be taken apart from the air hose, so it's probably easy to bring when traveling. However, it's not very discreet.

I really am not sure what constitutes the rubbery parts of this toy. On the box, it says to use a rubber-compatible lube with this toy, so I assume it's probably rubber. However, if the box states that you must use rubber-compatible lubricant, the little plastic bag the pump comes in has a little round sticker that says "material TPE". Since it's probably porous anyways, don't share unless you use protection or are fluid-bonded.

The cylinder itself is hard plastic. All is very smooth, but the rubbery seal at the entrance of the cylinder has a drag, so it's better to use lube to avoid any skin-pulling. The same seal also tends to catch dust and air. This toy has a light rubber scent, but nothing you'll smell while the toy is on your neither regions. But I have a cold so you probably can't trust my word on that.

The lack of texture of this toy would make it appropriate for beginners.

The design of this pump is very minimalist. It's really just a shortened regular penis pump(4½'' length x 2½'' diameter). Since this is only meant to pump the head, the size would accommodate just around any penis. The rubber seal (1'' diameter) is very stretchy, allowing for large boys to use this pump aswell. The toy in itself being so small, it would be easy it hide in a drawer or some place similar. You can also take it apart for added discretion. However, anyone a little familiar with those devices will recognize the thing.

I really like the finger grip pump and the easy press-for-release button. The finger grip pump avoids exhausting yourself and works pretty fast, and the press-for-release button makes it easy to stop everything if there is any discomfort.

As said before, this is intended for cisgendered males, and I'm a pre-hormones/pre-surgery transsexual male. So it did not work at all for me. It however worked as intended on my cisgendered husband. I suppose I'm only disappointed because my lack of penis makes the toy unenjoyable for me.

The toy is very easy to use. The finger grip trigger requires only one or two pumps before the effects are felt. The box states "maximum suction". I say yes. Maximum suction indeed.

I found cleaning this toy pretty easy: I use one of my Eden toy and body wipes and simply wipe everything. The seal being removable, it's very easy to access to the inside of the pump. Also, since it's very short, it's not a hassle to reach the bottom. I store the toy in its original box because I'm too lazy to find another storage option and I don't have to hide it. As previously stated, only use rubber-compatible lubes with this toy. Water-based lubes are probably your best option.

The toy will come packaged in a less than discreet cardboard box. The box pictures a man using the pump, penis and all, and is very clear about the use of its content. The toy also comes inclosed in a plastic bag. The cylinder is taken apart the air hose and has an extra layer of plastic around it.

On the side of the box, you can find important cautions when using the pump. They advise you to consult your physician if you have any complications, to discontinue use if pain occurs, to apply the minimum pressure necessary to achieve erection and they warn you that the use of a pump can cause bruising or rupture of blood vessels or could aggravate existing conditions if misused. They also warn you that the misuse of the pump could cause swelling or serious permanent injuries.
