The ring is made of 100% pure silicone, which is surprisingly stretchy. If I stretch it out I can easily pull on it till it's 6 inches long. It is smooth silicone and it is also matte. It does tend to be a lint magnet. There is a seam that runs the whole circumference of the ring.

The silicone is so nicely plush and squishy, I love how it feels.
