Swimming with the Fishes…

extremely useful review
California Exotic’s Diving Dolphin is made of thick jelly so it doesn’t stretch as well as other stretchy rings. It has two variable speed independently controlled eggs that are permanently wired back to a common controller. The eggs tend to heat up during use so be careful not to burn yourself or your partner. The dolphin’s nose is pretty pokey, so between that, the wires, and the bulk of the bullets there is really too much going on with this cock ring for my tastes.
Pros:
Two independently controlled variable speed egg vibrators
Cons:
Jelly material; Pokey nose; Wires; Eggs heat up during use

After taking a look at the Diving Dolphin, the first question that we had was; which end is up? Do you put the dolphin nose on top so that it has a better chance of reaching the clit but will probably just end up poking her, or do you put the nose on the bottom and let it poke her anus instead? We decided to put the nose up and quickly found that it was poking her in the clit. We turned it over and found it to still be annoying and now her clit got little to no stimulation which really defeats the purpose. A quick alteration was made to resolve this issue. Now we have a snub-nose dolphin instead of a bottle-nose dolphin. If everyone could keep quiet about this I would really appreciate it. I don’t want those PETA people coming after me.

The Diving Dolphin is made from jelly which, for me, is an unfortunate but forgivable quality for a non-penetrative toy, if the toy works well. Surprisingly, the thickness of the jelly means the Diving Dolphin does not have the stretch that other stretchy cock rings have. If you want something that can be worn in the more traditional method (at the base of the penis) look elsewhere. This toy might be able to do that, but I had to make additional alterations to get it to fit, and I’m not the most well endowed guy in the world. So, the Diving Dolphin is designed to hug the shaft of your cock, which if it hugs tightly can work pretty well.

Okay, what haven’t I complained about yet; oh yeah, the eggs. The Diving Dolphin comes with two egg shaped vibrators that are wired back to a common non-removable control. The control has two sliding switches so the eggs can be controlled independently at a variety of speeds. This is a nice feature and although the control strikes me as being pretty cheaply made, it seems to do the job pretty well. My biggest problem with the eggs is that they are wired. I’ve never really appreciated wired toys very much during intercourse because at some point they just seem to get in the way. It’s fine if it is while I am working on my partner’s clit, but to have two wires springing out from between our sweaty bodies it just doesn’t work very well. The bulk of the eggs didn’t really help much in the comfort area either. Finally, the eggs do seem to heat up quite a bit with extended use, so be careful of that. If you feel them getting too warm, turn them off and let them cool down. Maybe that’s why there are two. Always keep one off and alternate which one is being used.

As you can tell, I didn’t like my experiences with the Diving Dolphin very much. I know there are probably better stretchy cock rings out there, so my advice is to keep looking.
Experience
I find that I have been writing more cock ring reviews as of late and I realized that there were a couple that my partner and I had used in our more experimental days of toy usage that I had never gotten around to reviewing. I don’t think that my experience should be the last word on these toys, but I think it may give readers a better understanding of my background if I talk about some of the first cock rings I ever tried out. California Exotic’s Diving Dolphin was one of these.

Since the Diving Dolphin is essentially non-penetrative, sterilization is not as important, but it definitely cannot be sterilized. Water based and silicone based lubes should both be okay, but I only used water based lube in conjunction with the dolphin, so I didn’t test for silicone reaction for you, sorry.

Too bad about the position placements on the nubs and the bullets overheating! And we won't tell Peta Smile.

Good review!

Thanks Sammi. At least I didn't catch it in a tuna net, right?

I thought this product looked like a lot of fun! Now that I've read this review, I totally see some of the points that would make it not so much fun. Thanks for the review!

Some other reviews have painted a better picture of this item than mine, but my experience was not very good and I thought I'd pass it along.
