The Non-enhancing Enhancer

It was just thrilling to throw away a toy that costs more than $45 including shipping. Really thrilling. So if you like to throw money away, buy the Impulse.

I bought the Impulse enhancer as my second attempt to find a good toy for me and my (former) husband to use together. Again, I was disappointed.

There were some pros, which I'll just get out of the way. First, the cock ring part did actually fit on my partner and wasn't too big or too small. Second, the bullet is great fun alone – well, for a while any way.

This item has just too many fundamental flaws to be worth my time. The angle and position of the bullet while in the sleeve forced us to stay in one position: me on top riding him. Otherwise, the bullet felt like exactly what it is: a hard piece of metal banging into my clit. Even in the “preferred use position” the cord was too short and the vibrations weren't worth the effort.

Also, the TPR Silicone material is really just not one of my favorites at all. Every piece of lint and fuzzy that ever existed in the bed suddenly became part of my sex life when the sleeve of this toy was used. Cleaning the Impulse was ridiculously difficult because of all the ridges and the sticky nature of the TPR material.

Once I finally threw out the sleeve and just started using the bullet, I was really happy. Then the batteries started running hot. I thought maybe it just needed fresh batteries, but after going through 3 new sets of batteries I finally realized the controller was just dying. About that time I noticed the cord was loose from the bullet anyway. So into the garbage went the Impulse. It was just thrilling to throw away a toy that costs more than $45 including shipping. Really thrilling.

I wrote this review to direct you to not buy this toy and instead, read reviews of similar ones prior to purchases. I bought this toy at a store prior to knowing about this website. It is my understanding from other reviewers there are some really great couple toys out there. The Impulse just isn't one of them.

I'm giving it 1 star because the bullet was useful for about 2 months.

Sorry this didn't work for you. I HATE throwing away toys. It feels like such a waste. But there a waste of space to not pitch..... Thanks for the review!

That sucks. I don't know why these things are so expensive, when most of them don't even work.

I know - the idea is great, but the execution is almost always a joke. I have yet to find one of these things that was even remotely as pleasurable as it would seem. I'm on to adventures of another sort now so I'm just going to put this idea on the backburner and hopefully by the time I'm ready to revisit it someone will have come out with a good one!

I love my Cock Commander, but it does work best when you're on top of him.

There are a couple decent cock rings out there, though most of them are similar to this design. One, the Muvee, is even 100% silicone (which is rare in this category of sex toys).

Wow this one sounds like a bust! I would be just as angry as you were to throw away an expensive toy like this. Thanks for the review and the warning!
