The use of the Hida Max is pretty straight-forward:

Step 1. Apply lube to penis and interior of toy.
Step 2. Insert dick into toy.
Step 3. Move toy back and forth.
Step 4. Repeat Step 3. until desired climax.

Simple as that. It is a very flexible and squishy masturbator, so it's not one that you could thrust into with the help of the wall, floor, etc. You definitely need to use your hand (or your partner's hand, as in our case) when using this toy. As far as who can use this toy, it is obviously a toy meant for solo use by men. However, it can also add a little something to hand-jobs given by the user's partner. My boyfriend and I did this and it was definitely different from the traditional hand-job. I enjoyed using it on him and watching the faces he made as I did so. This toy can be used anywhere, even in water, so it can provide fun wherever you need it.

The Hida Max is made of a rubber polymer blend known as TPR (or TPE). It is very flexible but it keeps its shape. There is definitely a distinct, unpleasant smell to this masturbator; this smell has remained even after a couple washes but hopefully it will fade in the future. The smell also clings to your hands after touching it. I didn't detect much of a taste to it, however. There is a LOT of drag to this toy. Another bad thing about the material is that it attracts dirt and hair like crazy. You'll probably want to wash it before uses so you don't end up with hair and dirt in your lube.

There are two different textures to the outside of this toy. The top part of it has a sort of dimpled texture to it, while the bottom of the toy is completely smooth (ignoring the drag of it). The inside of the toy has a lot of different textures to it. The front-most part of it has a wavy shape to it with a wavy texture throughout. After that, it has a series of straight up-and-down lines. Finally, it tightens a bit and then opens back up into a sphere with smaller straight up-and-down lines. I wish I could photograph the box to better show you the textures of it but I don't have a camera so I can't. The best I can suggest is to enlarge the picture of the box on the product page and look there. There's a lot going on in the texture department, as you can see, but it's not something that should scare away a beginner. In fact, my boyfriend was a beginner when it came to masturbators, which is why I chose this toy.

Being that it is made of TPR, it is porous and phthalate-free. It cannot be bleached or boiled to sterilize it. You should only share it with someone whom you are already sharing bodily fluids. If not, you should wear a condom when using the Hida Max if you want to share it with someone else.

The shape and design of the Hida Max is very simple. It's basically just a purple tube with a little bit of outside texture to it. I believe the entry is supposed to vaguely resemble a vaginal opening. There are little lips around the hole and what I believe is supposed to be a clitoris at the top of the entry. It is, however, by no means a realistic vagina. For those of you who want a realistic vagina, you're out of luck; This should be obvious, however, since most vaginas are not purple. If realistic vaginas (at least, when it comes to masturbators) aren't your thing, then the Hida Max is for you. It should be noted that the entry of this toy is not as clean-looking as it is in the pictures. Ours had a few pieces of material sticking out but it was easily removed. Besides that, the material is soft so the extra bits won't harm or bother you, unless you're obsessed with perfect aesthetics.

The size of this toy was basically perfect for my boyfriend. He is an average guy of about 5" (6", if he really tries). This toy would also be good for smaller users, then, since it's not very big. However, if you're a bigger guy, you might want to look elsewhere. Thankfully, this toy is very stretchy so if you're only a little bigger than my boyfriend, this masturbator should be fine for you. However, the end of it is closed so if you're a bigger guy, I wouldn't risk getting this toy for fear of it not being big enough for you.

Since it's small and squishy, the Hida Max should be fairly easy to hide in a number of places. This also means that it could work fairly well for travel. It's a little more discreet than some more realistic pocket pussies and someone might not realize what it is if they don't look too closely. However, you'd have to be pretty naive to not figure out what it is after closer inspection.

The full length of the Hida Max is about 6 1/2". The width is about 2 3/8" at its widest point and about 2" at its thinnest point. The vaginal depth is about 5 1/4" and the width is maybe, on average, about 1 1/8". This latter measurement was nearly impossible to measure due to the nature of this toy so I apologize if I'm a little off. Remember, however, that since the toy is squishy, it can stretch to wider sizes.

My boyfriend had no trouble at all inserting his dick into the Hida Max (after using lube, of course). This is a good thing, if you don't want to struggle. This is a bad thing, if you want a tighter fit. He said that it felt a little loose (perhaps due the stretchy nature of the toy) and he had to squeeze it to get a closer feeling. This is especially surprising because my boyfriend has a slightly above average girth of a little over 5' circumference. The Hida Max is very squishy, perhaps too squishy. My boyfriend complained that he couldn't really feel the textures, despite there being so many. I believe this is due to the looseness of the toy and, again, the squishy feeling of it. If you're one who wants a tight textured toy, look elsewhere. This toy is not for you. If you're a beginner who is new to masturbators or someone who doesn't like overly tight and textured toys, then you would like the Hida Max.

Something I noticed about this masturbator is the noises it makes. Even when there is no lube in it, it makes some strange noises when squished together. When you're actually using it, it makes similar "squishing", "slurping", and "squelching" noises so use a little caution when using the Hida Max when you're around others.

This toy would work in the water since it's a simple TPR masturbator with no vibrations or anything else that isn't waterproof. Keep in mind, however, that if you're going to use it in the water, you'll have to use silicone-based lube because because water-based lube will simply wash away in the water. Other than that, this toy is perfect for some bath-time fun.

I have not yet had the chance to clean this toy myself but my boyfriend said it was incredibly easy. It is best cleaned with a toy cleaner or wipes. If you want, however, you can clean it with warm water and mild soap. The end of the Hida Max is closed so that makes it a little harder to clean than open masturbators but since it isn't deep, it's not that hard to reach in to scrub out the inside. I have very short fingers and even I was able to reach the bottom of the inside with some squishing of the toy. You may have to clean it frequently, however, due to the fact that the toy collects dust and hair easily. Make sure it's dry before you store it in an enclosed area because the porous nature of the toy will collect bacteria and keep it.

The toy is pretty easy to store due to its squishy nature and short size. You shouldn't really have a problem finding a good place to hide it. You might want to consider keeping it in a box or a plastic bag, however, to help keep it clean and free of stuff that you do not want touching your dick.

Absolutely do NOT use oil lubricant on this toy. Oil lube can damage TPR toys. However, you are free to use water-based and silicone-based lubricant. You don't have to worry about it touching your other toys. Since I'm just a beginner, all I've got in terms of toy storage is a shoe box and it does just fine in there.

The box for the Hida Max is absolutely useless to English-speaking (or, rather, English-reading) people. Except for a few key words, the entire thing is in Japanese. As far as designs go, the box is very "loud". It's black with white, purple, yellow, and red text all over it and there are lightning bolts in the background. "Hida" is written in purple and "Max" appears to be on fire. I guess they were going for a "manly" approach. "ToysHeart" and "Max Gel" are displayed on various parts of the box. There are also pictures of a man's head all over it that I find a little creepy-looking because it appears as though his tongue is sticking out. The front of the box has a drawing of what the inside textures look like. One side has what appears to be specs about the toy on it and the other side has what I believe to be a description of the masturbator. The back of the box has another drawing of the textures on it, with arrows pointing to each one and probably what is a description about them. The top of the box has the "Hida Max" logo on it. The whole thing came wrapped in plastic when I got it and the toy was in a plastic bag when I opened the box.

Unless someone can read Japanese, I'd say the box is pretty discreet. It doesn't actually show a picture of the toy, just the textures inside and a shot of the stretched-out opening. If I didn't know what had come in the package previously, I probably wouldn't be able to figure out what it's for. The box is also not very much bigger than the toy itself so it's good for storage since it won't take up much room. If you wanted to give this toy as a gift, the box should be suitable since it's essentially discreet. Just keep in mind that the information on the box is next to useless for English-readers so you'll have to inform the gift-receiver of the various properties of the toy so they know how to clean it and care for it.

I wanted to add that the toy did come with a free sample of lubricant. It came in a brown plastic tube-like container. The only information about it that I could read is that it is called "Vanessa and Co. Shape Up Lotion". It is .4 fl oz or 12 mL. I do not know what kind of lube it is, though I have to assume it is either silicone-based or water-based since oil-based is not safe for TPR. It was very runny lubricant but it was also sticky, which didn't make for a good combination. My boyfriend and I tried it once with the toy and it got everywhere and made a mess. However, he did seem to like it when I gave him a hand-job using the lube. We have some generic water-based lube you can buy just about anywhere and hand-jobs don't really feel good using that lube. With this lube, however, he really enjoyed it. It was just a mess to clean up and it seemed to dry fairly quickly, though not as quickly as our water-based lubricant.

Overall, my boyfriend enjoyed this toy alright. Considering we don't have any other masturbators, we may still use this one if the mood warrants it. However, it didn't really blow him away as we were hoping it would. I was looking for something that would spice up my "hand-jobs" and the Hida Max fell flat when it came to our expectations. It's not the worst masturbator out there, I am sure, and some people might really like it, especially shorter/average guys and ones who like a looser fit. Unfortunately, though, it won't work for everyone so you should consider what you're looking for in this type of toy before you purchase the Hida Max.

An important side note: After using this toy for a day, skipping a day, and then using it again, my boyfriend got red marks around the tip of his dick. We're unsure if he had these bumps beforehand and the toy just made them worse or if it is the cause of them. My boyfriend has sensitive skin (especially down there) so I wouldn't say this is going to happen to everyone but I thought it was important to mention. I'm going to have him hold off on using it for a bit and then try again to make sure that the Hida Max isn't the cause of it. We'll try using even more lube next time to make sure it wasn't just irritated by the dryness. So, expect this information to be in my follow-up review.
