Colt vacuum pump with pressure gauge - pump accessory discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Robin Goodfellow

I'm not sure why a pump that fetches this price plainly doesn't work, right out of the box. It looks to be made from relatively quality materials. It's weight demonstrates that its made from mostly metal components. So had it worked it probably would have been quite durable. But as a brand new pump used with a compatible Colt cylinder it couldn't hold pressure. Rendering the whole unit including the pressure gauge which would have been a handy safety feature, useless. Since no pressure could be gained.

I hesitated to post this review for along time thinking that it was user error. Not only could it not get suction around a cock, it couldn't suck anything; my belly, water, etc. Which became a problem to identifying where there was a leak in the system. As I had hoped to suck up soapy water to see where the suds leaked out and thereby identifying the leak in the system. No suction meant no suds. That plan failed. I pretty much coated every seam and seal with silicone in an attempt to create gaskets for any air leakage occuring. This did not work. This became a sort of rubik's cube for me. The idea of cock pumping became distant and I was more just curious how it was possible that this thing couldn't work. It still puzzles me and I pull it out occasionally thinking maybe I was a moron or that maybe it will magically start working. Unfortunately, nope.

I carefully took the unit apart. Everything seemed to be working. Except it doesn't. Overall a bummer. I'm not sure why something in this price range would suck so terribly. A $20 pump from a hardware store works much better. Save your money and don't buy this pump. Good luck else where.
