About author

Author Rebecca Apsan is the owner and operator of New York City lingerie store La Petite Coquette which bears the title of one of the most visited lingerie stores in the world. She now has her own line of lingerie being sold on QVC and even has the stamp of approval from Tim Gunn- he featured her and La Petite Coquette on his Bravo TV show "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style". You can find several rave reviews for Rebecca, her store, and her line of lingerie all over fashion and style websites, especially those dedicated to those delicate and lovely underthings. TheLittleFlirt.com is the on-line home for Apsan's store and book.

Content / Style / Audience

In just under 200 pages Apsan covers all your basic lingerie topics such as bras, panties, slips & sleepwear, shape-wear and pantyhose. In these chapters you are introduced to a glossary of lingerie vocabulary that explains what the real difference between similar items really are such as Tonga style panties and thongs or merrywidows and teddies. Apsan then takes her information one step further by detailing the proper care and upkeep for these usually delicate fabrics (silk, lace, chiffon etc.), connecting with your 'inner flirt' to gain confidence in wearing lingerie and finally how to incorporate your new knowledge into your current lingerie wardrobe. While obviously aimed towards women the book also features a short section featuring tips for men in her "Dressing to Undress" chapter.

Design

A girlie girl will instantly be attracted to the beautiful pink striped cover and glimpse into a glamorous and elegant lingerie store. Other beautiful photos of dreamy underthings are placed throughout the book and usually represent a variety of styles, from the very sexiest black merrywidow to delicate and lovely long slips reminiscent of a boudoir from the 1920's. Before and after photos of women fitted with proper sizes are also included to demonstrate the importance of measurements in selecting your lingerie. Each page is decidedly feminine with the same pink stripe motif from the cover tied in and important points highlighted in bold pink. A clear, well sized font makes it easy and enjoyable to read.
