Best Women's Erotica 2008 - book by Cleis Press Inc. - review by Dragon

With a title like Best Women's Erotica, you expect the best. The moment that I first held it in my hand, it reminded me of several of my favorite erotica collections. This included Taboo:Forbidden Fantasys for couples, Best Bondage Erotica, and Best Bondage Erotica 2. All of which were edited by Violet Blue or Alison Tyler. This erotica collection consists of an introduction by Violet, 21 stories followed by a section about each author and one about Violet Blue. This is the same format as the other collections that I love.

The book begins with Violet's introduction. It is not the usual introduction into a book. She mentions how book introductions bore her; how there was madness, longing, and pure pleasure while reading submissions. She tells of unspoken pain in her own life that draws you in, and then she tells you of a night at a strip club in her own life. Then she tells you bits of most of the stories. I followed her trail of words to start the book somewhere in the middle captivated by "The old adage goes 'You can do mine,' and Cerise Noire's tale by that name involves much more than turnabout is fair play with a girl, her boyfriend, and everyone's favorite third, a strap-on."

Cerise's story begins "I can't believe I'm actually getting to do this, I thought as I watched my purple jelly cock enter his ass. From the time I lost my virginity to a well-hung and none too skilled high school boy, I realized the need for a way to keep my ass safe from intrusion." (Somewhere about here, I decided that I might give this book to my daughter when she's about 16) That lovely story starts with her sitting at her favorite spot on the floor of the library when Leo actually walks off with her book.

In Blame by Amy Wadhams, Leslie with her artistic nature had not found the accounting job that her parents college paid education prepared her for. Bored, she visits her aunt and cousin. "Sonny" though has grown up a bit more than she remembers. Wanting experience, they connect and he instinctively knows how to play rough for her. Of course there is an aftermath when...

These were fantastic stories. I remember them as I look back at my review. However, there are many, many books in the world to read, and dvd's to watch. I'm keeping the book, but I haven't picked it up again. No fault of the book- only competition with something I haven't seen!
