What a novelty - the first EVER completely waterproof book!

Aqua Erotica is a book that really changes the way people are able to read. I expected some cardboard-style children’s book, or a large, flat laminated book that was big and awkward, but neither of those are true.

This book is very small and compact, and really does look like any other book that is easily carried around; discreetly if need be. Because all of the pages and the cover are absolutely waterproof, this book really can go any and everywhere with you; including the bathtub, shower, hot tub, sauna, or pool. Take it for an evening dip with a lover, or in a steamy bath for a sensual night of solo love.

As soon as I got this book and marveled over its size and shape, I dunked it in the kitchen sink to test whether or not it was really waterproof. It is!

For further testing I took it into the shower with me and was thoroughly impressed at its resistance and ability to arouse. Now (the next day), however, I notice that the pages really stick together if not individually wiped dry, even if they were not opened while in the water.

The stories are all unique in their content, and united in that they all include water either as an element, a sense of erotic potentiality, a metaphor, only as a word, as a source of death, or one of comfort. Because they all share this theme, it is even more fitting that the book can also be engulfed in water, along with your passion and arousal.

Another important aspect to remember about Aqua is that it is erotic literature. That is, the stories contain elements of personhood and character development rather than just fucking and getting off. Reading the stories allows the reader to find elements of the self and realism, which can be a refreshing change or an exciting new discovery depending on one’s tastes.

One of my favorites is called “Watercolor,” and is based around a model’s inner monologue of attraction to the woman she’s posing for. Another retells the story of “The Little Mermaid” with a slight twist at the end.

I recommend this book, if not for the fun of it being waterproof (I just can’t get over that!), than for the erotic content. For a first-time book of erotica I think that this is a great buy and that there will be at least one story that will tickle your fancy, or something else.
Follow-up commentary
Upon completion of the book, I realize that I might have been a little bit too hasty in my original review.

The Waterproofing is still fabulous, but the majority of the stories seem to fall far, far short of my expectations. I like that they all involve water in some way, but the content in some is too drawn out and really boring, while others are vague and seemingly pointless.

The few stories that were erotic were fabulous, but that amounted to maybe 5 total, in a story of 18. If you love to swim and have sex, this book could be for you, but otherwise I might not spend the money...

The book is actually waterproof? That's awesome! So you could literally head to the pool or the jacuzzi and read the book while swimming around?
