Best of Best Women's Erotica review

I have a sizeable collection of vibrators and dildos that I keep close to my bed and enjoy using on myself, and I used to think it contained everything I needed to escape from the rest of my life and get myself off. Now I realize, however, there was a key element missing from my collection: erotica.

The Best of Best Women’s Erotica now has a home with my other sex toys, and I read a story from it before even taking out a vibrator.  I had not previously experimented much with reading erotica, and I am so glad that I did. Reading these stories is the perfect foreplay for sex with myself, and we all know that foreplay makes sex much, much better!

I’d tried reading erotica online before, but the erotica I found didn’t do a whole lot for me. This collection does. There is a huge variety in the stories in this anthology: I read of heterosexual and lesbian sex, dominant women and submissive women, married couples and random encounters between strangers. The women in the stories have a wide variety of fantasies and fetishes – enough to appeal to a broad range of tastes.

Highlights for me included the story about a college girl who watches her roommate and boyfriend have sex, and the story about a woman who takes a lover after an extended period of celibacy. While there were a few stories that bored me slightly, there were so many that had me entirely absorbed that I can’t complain.

These stories are all well-written, and I wasn’t left with a bad taste in my mouth after reading them, the way I sometimes am when I watch cheesy porn. Instead, reading them made me pulsate with desire and erotic energy – this was better than any lubricant I’ve tried! I also appreciated the variety in terms of the way sex was presented in the stories – some of these (my personal favorites) take a subtle approach to erotica, building up anticipation until you want to climax just as badly as the characters.

Others present a more direct, I-need-you-right-now kind of eroticism. The variety of characters and the variety of kinds of sex that can be found within these 331 pages make it a book that is going to be a permanent part of my bedside collection.
