Stud Hunters review

This Candida Royalle film is great for the woman who wants a movie with some sex in it and not the hardcore, up close and explicit stuff that you expect to see in porn.

For me personally, I like the up close and personal stuff, to a point. Plus when I watch porn I want to see sex, lots of sex and right away. This movie took forever to get to a sex scene, and then the sex scenes were few and far between. I guess I’ve been around enough porn and sex (I’ve worked in a video store that had a huge porn room, I’ve worked at an adult store that rented and sold xxx videos, and I’ve worked on a branch of the sex industry for the past few years) that if I go through the trouble of watching porn, I want to see something pretty exciting.

I am usually disappointed by x-rated movies that try to have a storyline because it just never comes through as believable for me. I am a tough critic. I like what Candida tries to do with female oriented films, making porn more accessible and acceptable for women. I think it’s great. It opens up a lot of women to the excitement and arousal factor of porn without the male viewpoint. This is a great movie for a first timer or someone who is uncomfortable with all the in your face action. Plus it’s great for couples who might want to spend more time on each other than watching the movie anyway.

I have to admit this movie was one of the better ones as far as story line goes. It actually had plot and humor; humor that was actually funny and not contrived. It also had some very cool ambiance and soft camera angles, so nothing was too harsh. The last sex scene though? Come on; she had all those guys at her disposal and used a dildo at first? To hell with that! Bring on the studs!

When it comes to porn for myself, I want more action, but I do give Candida an A for effort and her vision of women’s porn is not too harsh, but at least it wasn’t all fluffy bunnies either.

Yeah, I know, I am totally jaded.
