Empowering Pleasures

If you want a book on ‘how to’, this is probably not it. If you like having a bookshelf full of kink books, then this is a good addition.

I am a complete book collecting freak, and I had to have it. I have a soppy romantic side that delves into a little erotica writing from time to time, that liked the ideas presented in this book.

An author with an impressive array of books under her wing, the Erotic Surrender book is another. She relates her own personal experiences and introduces the reader to the art of erotic surrender and sensual submission.

It is a basic book covering a range of topics such as: living out fantasies, role-playing, bondage, pain, discipline, positions and various elements of one's psyche and the psychological aspects of D/s. There are sample sessions from personal experiences, as well as a nicely written glossary of basic D/s terms, and various other sources of recommended reading to further enhance your knowledge.

There is a decent chapter on the aspects of the SM players, scenes, and etiquette which is a great information tool for those wishing to step out in the SM community. But each community is different, so it is still quite basic in the information presented.

For those who admire the sensual and erotic side of things, the book will resonate with you. If you aren’t into the wishy washy romantic side of things, you may find this book a little too much.

I enjoyed it and use the book as a point of reference in writing erotic stories, and for sharing it with those who are perhaps are a little curious about SM and wanting to explore their own fantasies, but are not quite sure where to start, or what it can involve.

It is however a great book for reminding us we are allowed fantasies, and they can in fact become reality with clear communication and well thought out intentions. I would recommend it as a great starting point for those who are curious to explore their submissive side, and the realms of D/s. Not as bible on ‘how to do be submissive’.

You mention the author has some titles under her wing but I don't think you actually said her name. You could do that, maybe list other well-known works to support your claim. Otherwise, good job!

Thanks for the reminder Adriana Smile The authors name is displayed on the book so I kinda figured it didn't need mentioning but for those who are unsure Claudia Varrin is the author of this book. She also has a website with a list of published books such as "A Guide to New York's Fetish Underground", and a number of books of Female Domination. A list can be found on claudiavarrin.com.

Interesting summary of the book. It sounds as if there isn't much to it overall. I like the review, but I'd love to hear more about how the book itself is organized. Thanks.
