Erotic Sex Play and Beyond - dvd by Ultimate - review by orange_cutie

After reading the description I felt like this DVD could really help my significant other and I spice things up in the bedroom. I was hoping that the couples in the DVD would have some astoundingly brilliant ideas on how to keep your sex life steamy and unpredictable as the years go on.

Unfortunately, I think I was expecting too much. My boyfriend and I sat down to watch this, one night after a nice romantic meal at home, and were hoping that we could try out some of the new techniques that the back of the DVD box says it has to offer.

Our first problem was discovered when he opened the case and saw that it was not locked down, and hadn’t been secured inside the case for its entire trip across the United States. Needless to say, the disc was extremely scratched and pitted. We, thankfully, have a disc repair kit and popped the disc in for a few minutes. However, even after cleaning and buffing the disc there’s still a big scratch around the center of the disc where it grinded against the center button while in transit.

With the mood being close to non-existent we started the DVD anyway, confident it would bring the mood back tenfold!

At the very beginning there’s a slight introduction by the Director of the Sinclair institute, which details the instructional videos, mainly Sinclair’s (can you say plug?) are recommended by many therapists and couples counselors. Then, the actual DVD starts with an introduction by host, Paula Ficara. Luckily, neither one of these intros last too long.

There are seven chapters in this volume of the Sexplorations series. The first is sensual touch and how to connect with your partner through intimate massage. Specifically this DVD focuses on Sensei touch, a kind of massage where the giver avoids the genital areas and breasts, and simply becomes in-tune with what feels good for them and their partner.

Next is the quickies chapter. Personally I was really looking forward to this chapter, since we’ve never really gotten the art of the quickie. However, the entire chapter was one couple getting busy in their car at a car wash and one couple making love in the shower before work. I’m sorry, but those aren’t the quickie ideas I was looking for.

The 3rd chapter is about sex toys, which includes a brief history of the dildo. Unfortunately this is where the giant scratch is in my DVD so I am unable to see most of this chapter.

I am unable to see the 4th chapter as well, all I can tell you is that it’s entitled “Enhancers.”

The fifth chapter is about fantasy role playing, and includes two scenes; one in a jail cell, and one about the French maid. Again, less than imaginative.

Anal sex is the concentration of the next chapter. This chapter is the most informative and lengthy chapter of entire DVD, with basic instructions on how to begin with anal pleasure and steps to take to ensure a pleasurable experience rather than a painful one. There are also tips about which sex toys should be used for anal intercourse, a section on butt plugs, anal sex, as well as oral anal sex.

Finally, the last chapter is about adult movies. However, this chapter is reminiscent of something seen late at night on the History channel, with some couple interviews thrown in. There’s also an interview with a couple who work on camera in the adult industry.

This DVD is a good buy for couples just starting to explore erotic sex play, from fantasy to anal sex. For couples who have already experimented a little, this might not be such an enlightening purchase.
