For those who own, love or are just plain curious about the vagina

A great purchase for a fun, informative and shareable read. Men, women and teens will all learn a little something new and have a great book to get through on a rainy weekend.

About author

A mother-daughter team of a gynecologist and writer respectively, this book is the big sister you always wanted. Clearly written in an approachable, open and honest way, it feels like having a conversation with a best friend- if your best friend had years of in depth professional experience with female anatomy.

Personal comments

I would love to see this book provided to young women who are entering or about to enter puberty. It demystifies the 'down there' and gives you a great sense of empowerment after reading. No shame, no judgment, no half truths, just facts written in a pro-women, reader friendly way. I actually read this book as a college freshman and after years of reading Cosmo magazine and watching Sex & The City, there was still so much I didn't know about a part I'd had for nineteen years! This is an absolutely delightful and wonderful addition to your library and should be shared with everyone and anyone.

Experience

I simply could not put this book down. Even though you're getting so much quality information on, essentially, every single page, it's a fun read and you're often unaware of how much you're actually learning. As soon as I finished, I shared it with several friends who agreed and told others. Soon, my book was traveling through many circles of women before I donated it to a local library to share with the other women in my community.

Nice review, thanks! Did it show pictures? Are the things in the book similar to sex ed taught in public schools?

It definitely looks like a neat book. Now I need to get around to reading it; I do wish that we could provide books like these to teenagers too.

There aren't pictures or diagrams, or at least none that stick out in my memory because it is actually quite a thick book, but as far as being similar to sex ed in schools I would say it's pretty different. It goes over anatomy; what the sex organs are, what their basic functions are, etc. but it covers so many other aspects that I think you could teach a class for a semester on this material alone =) Plus, it's pretty conversational so it doesn't feel at all like reading a textbook.
