Two Knotty Boys Showing You The Ropes is an amazing tutorial for Japanese Rope Bondage. The authors have had to learn all of these techniques on their own and have compiled all of their knowledge into a book which they wished they had to read when getting started. I find the writing style of this book to be incredibly engaging, easy to understand without being "dumbed down" and amazingly humorous!

Before reading this book, my only experience in learning about rope bondage was through vague tutorials that left me feeling confused and tangled up in knots. It took a lit of trial and error to see what was working and what wasn't. This book, however, has greatly expanded my knowledge of a subject I'm incredibly passionate about.

This book, along with some rope, are all you need to indulge yourself in the world of Japanese Rope Bondage. There is great information for beginners and pros, alike. Beginners will appreciate the lovely introduction to rope and rope bondage, while advanced users will love all of the super advanced techniques made easy!

First, you'll find a great introduction to rope safety, as well as the what to do and what not to do when it comes to rope play. They cover all of the risks of play and tell you how to avoid them in a very easy to understand manner. This chapter is an amazing start for those who are experimenting with rope bondage for the first time. I've been doing it for quite a while and still learned a good bit from this chapter alone. They then cover the types of ropes used most commonly in rope bondage: nylon, cotton, and hemp. The pros and cons are gone over in great detail about each material, which helps bondage enthusiasts pick the best rope for their needs. Rope size and care are also covered, as well as how to secure the ends to prevent fraying.

Next, there's the knot tying technique chapter. The knots included range from incredibly simple square knots, to very intricate and decorative knots. Each knot is pictured in a step-by-step process with clear pictures and very helpful captions. The knots look incredibly difficult to tie, but they're made extremely simple by the lovely, super helpful illustrations.

After the basic knot techniques, it's time to put that knowledge to use! The basic bondage chapter covers simple and easy to do restraints and wraps, such as the Dragonfly Arm Bind, and the Cat's Paw wrist and ankle tie-downs. Again, each step in the technique is illustrated incredibly well. The captions explain what is going on. There wasn't one second I was confused at all.

Your next chapter contains very gorgeous decorative bondage techniques. While these look like they're made for super advanced rope enthusiasts, they're still easy enough for beginners. This chapter brings together the beautiful form and function of this art. It covers things from harnesses, corsets, panties, bras, gauntlets, and will have you all decked out in a sexy rope number in little to no time at all.

The next two chapters focus on dominance and sex bondage. There are a great number of techniques for bring the BDSM aspect into this rope art. It shows how to tie your lover in a harness with a leash, how to make a rope strap-on, and several other incredibly useful, and wonderfully sexy techniques.

The end of the book provides a glossary of commonly used terms, and also introduces some suggested reading.

This book is about 80 pages long, and has a very handy size to it. It has 37 different techniques to suit all tastes and preferences, and has over 750 illustrations to make learning a breeze. It is a soft cover book, but it should hold up to light wear and tear very easily. The book glides seamlessly between techniques, with each increasing the level of knowledge of the user.

I'd fallen in love with Japanese Rope Bondage ages ago. I always wanted to learn everything I could about it, but I was often a little lost and clueless. I had no idea what rope would be best, or how to tie certain knots. I was just winging it and hoping it would turn out slightly functional. When I finally did master one technique, other people were so intrigued! They were fascinated with what I knew about rope and how to make pretty things out of it.

This book is just what I needed to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. It actually makes me want to go about and teach people how to practice this beautiful art.
