The Masseuse by Vivid - review by xGOLDx

So straight off the bat I haven't seen the first one, so I really didn't know what to expect from The Masseuse. All I knew was that it was a little kink, and directed by Paul Thomas - my favorite director since all of his movies are very well shot and have production quality.

The general idea behind the story (without giving too much away) is that Jim (Justin Sterling) is a geeky awkward guy who gets a massage with a happy ending from Barbra (Jenna Jameson) and then becomes infatuated with her. Barbra has several other encounters with Jim in which she allows him to explore his darker, kinkier side - mainly through rope bondage and some BDSM toys.

The best part about this movie was how natural the sex scenes were. Not just in terms of Sterling and Jameson's obvious chemistry since they were partners at the time, but also in the flow during the sex scenes. It has a very realistic buildup of tension before anything sexual starts that is really easy to fall into. Plus the transitions between sex acts within a scene were also natural feeling. There was a complete absence of the porn standard formula, which was refreshing.

The way the kink was portrayed was very tasteful, even approachable, making it a great intro for couples debating stepping into the BDSM world. I adore the fact that it was rope bondage instead of just ordinary restraint play; the rope work was beautiful and sexy. You could definitely tell that they brought someone experienced in to do the rigging, which in this case it was Sir Nick. Jenna tied up was hot enough itself, but some toys were also brought into the works - ball gags, whips, etc. The kink play didn't get too rough or scary for the average couple either - no electrostim, watersports, rape, orgies, etc. Just some very artfully portrayed restraint and flogging for the most part.

There was a good mix of story and sex scenes. The story parts weren't unnecessarily long, making it easy to stay in the mood and not wanting to fast forward either. The acting was definitely some of the better I've seen in porn. It was a nice middle ground between amateur style movies with just sex scenes, and the more Playgirl-esque story driven movies.

My only issue with the movie was that until the end, some of the scenes with Savannah Samson and Evan Stone seemed random, disjointed from the rest of the story going on. It wasn't a big enough of a problem to be a deal-breaker or to even stop me from watching this one several times over already, just a little strange is all.

The special features are nothing special at all - EXCEPT for the Rachel and Rob Rotten scene that was included as a cut scene. It was amazing! Very hot, and really should have been kept in the feature.

Still digging this one! Doing a rewatch isn't boring like a few other porns can be, and the menus are easy to navigate and skip straight to a favorite scene.
