Erotic Massage: The Touch of Love is a great book for beginners. It leaves nothing to chance and assumes you know nothing about giving massages. I found the instructions and illustrations super easy to follow. It covers many different types of massages and even how to set the stage and finish well. The results of the massage I've given my husband were quite successful. He has loved all of the different ones I've tried on him so far. I highly recommend this book.
Easy to follow instructions, very thorough, good illustrations, large bold font.
I wish there were an easy way to keep the book open while giving a massage.

The cover greatly exaggerates the usefulness of the book, but it's still well worth the money -- if you're a beginner.

The New Bottoming Book
This is considered one of the essential books for learning about BDSM. It does include a lot of great information you should know if you're a beginner - but only if you're a beginner. If you've been doing BDSM for awhile, you may want to look for a different book. For beginners, it's great though.
Good basics, gender inclusive, formal language, short stories, interesting, lots of topics.
It's just the basics, doesn't include safety information.

Sex. How to Do Everything
Em and Lo have written a fantastic overall guide to 'mainstream' sex, with really lovely photographs setting it a cut above the rest. It covers all the bases, from manual and oral sex, to positions, to all manner of fantasies and ways to spice things up. It provides great basic information, with a focus on healthy relationships physically and mentally, but unfortunately doesn't delve into specifics and lacks any information on LGBT issues or relations.
Beautiful photographs throughout, good general advice, friendly tone.
Nothing on same-sex relations or anything more than single partner sex, somewhat basic.

This is a stand-out book on the topic of fisting. For someone who has never fisted and for someone who has never been fisted, this book will assuage any fears you may have regarding this intense experience.

The Big Bang
If you need to buy only one sex book in your life, get this one. The Big Bang covers a wide variety of sexual topics in a good amount of detail. I have read a few sex book and this is my favorite by far. If anything, buy this book for the "Sex for Winners" part, it has information that every person should know.

Urban Tantra
Urban Tantra is a wonderful introduction to Tantra for everyone - rural or urban, queer, straight, trans, cis, man, woman, disabled, and every ethnicity. It is a fair-minded, intelligent, modern take on the ancient tradition of Tantric sex, in which you use your mind and your lungs to expand your sexuality. The New Age aspects, like chakras and sex magic, may be hard to swallow, but it is fully worth it for the erotic awakening that Barbara Carrellas's Urban Tantra holds.

Its Taoist sexual practices are based upon similar premises as yogic and Tantric sexual practices, in their shared focus on creating and directing the flow of energy. It is also co-authored by a medical doctor. Interestingly it proposes energetic techniques to regulate menstrual flow and menopausal symptoms. Its consideration of all life stages makes it a book for life.
Designed with every woman in mind, can't find ancient practices ‘just anywhere’.
Some exercises bring out the impatience in me.

A fabulous look at the entire sensual experience. Maybe more helpful for people in a long-term relationship or very frequent escapades with the same partner. Less helpful for those looking for tricks to pick up one-night stands (Who needs 'em anyways?) A great read for beginners and for people who've been doing the deed for years.
This book has a lot of interesting information to offer at any skill level.
