Content / Style / Audience

This book is a step-by-step illustrated guide for tying sensual and decorative rope bondage. They give information on rope bondage safety, how much rope is needed to complete each knot or tie, the different knots used and in-depth explanations accompanied by pictures as to how to tie each knot, etc.

I thought trying out the knots and ties would be difficult never having done them before, but with this book it was actually quite simple. We started out with the Basic Wrap on page 24 and have used it many times since then.

Here's an excerpt describing the Basic Wrap: "One of the most useful bondage techniques is this Basic Wrap. Use it wrist-to-wrist, ankle-to-ankle, wrist-to-ankle or even to secure an arm or ankle to the leg of a table or chair. It doesn't have to be rock-hard tight to hold and it can even be loosened mid-scene without freeing your partner, so it's a more circulation-friendly technique to use even in long-duration play."

After that they list how much rope you'll need and what diameter rope to use. Then there are 17 steps explaining in detail how to tie the Basic Wrap, but also a few more steps explaining how to undo the tie.

The writing style is very clear and concise and easy to follow. The inclusion of pictures helps immensely for those of us who need to see it to understand.

So if you think you may be inclined to tie up your partner or vice versa this book may be for you!

Design

This is the first rope bondage book I've read through but it's laid out well in my opinion. The cover is a beautiful shot of a lovely lady wearing a red rope harness and the Two Knotty Boys with their hands on the rope looking like they're adjusting it and their knees on her sides, almost for leverage to get the ropes tight.

The pages are a basic white paper and all the pictures are printed in black and white, which in my opinion isn't terrible, but it could have been better done in color.

The Table of Contents is pretty straight forward and easy to read. It lists out each knot/tie by name and page number under their respective sections: The Knots, Basic Bondage, Decorative Bondage, Dominance Bondage and Sex Bondage. There's even a section on Rope Bondage Safety and some information on different types of rope.

After all that you turn to the first section with Knots, where they explain how to first tie a Square Knot and it continues with the other knots and ties.

In the back of the book is a couple pages on suggested reading, a glossary of terms and a bit about the authors.

All in all, I think it's a well constructed book for a soft covered one.

Follow-up commentary
Both my husband and I love this book. There's so much to try and have fun with in it and it holds a special place in our play room among our other bdsm/fetish themed books.

You may want to try being more in depth in your book reviews, it helps the person decide whether they may want to purchase or not if they can find detail in the review.

What kind of ties does the book focus on? How easy is it to follow? Which did you enjoy the most from it?

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll use that in the future.
