How To Perform Rope Bondage review

This was, quite possibly, the worst "educational" video I have ever seen. Where do I even begin? While there were several irritating details, the big picture is probably best.

The video was shot, presumably, in a motel room very near a freeway. The sound of air brakes and other traffic is prevalent, causing quite the distraction. The audio is poorly done and sounds like a stereotypical bad porn soundtrack mixed with unpleasant voices. The video is shot from two primary angles and the editing work of transitioning between the angles is poorly done; several times throughout the video, my husband and I caught ourselves gesticulating to the "director" that a different angle was not only desired but very much necessary.

The two "stars" of the video were not well cast. At times they did not seem comfortable with each other; at others, they seemed entirely too comfortable with each other. The dichotomy of this threw me off many times during the watching of the film. To top it all off, they either had not rehearsed or didn't bother with a script, as their "banter" ended up sounding like two people who didn't know what the other had planned or expected. That in itself undermined the ever-important concept of communication when practicing any kind of BDSM related activity.

The costuming was hideous, reminiscent of bad retro styles that never came back into fashion from the 70s and 80s. I was so turned off by watching the sweat progressively soak "Roper's" shirt I found it hard to even bother with paying attention to the actual rope work.

Overall, I felt this video was not only horrible as an instructional video but also gave an unpleasant face to an activity that is fun and enjoyable for many people. I prefer real people to caricatures of unpleasant stereotypes if I'm going to watch something that is designed to enhance my sex life. The bloopers at the end were less funny than indicative of just how unrealistic and ridiculous the video is. If you want a good instructional video on bondage, do not under any circumstances watch this one.
