Kama Sutra Book review

After reading in the description that this book was one and a half years in production, I was eager to review it and see how good it was. I have read many sex books that have the words “Kama Sutra” on the front, but none have come close to this edition.

After carefully removing the plastic wrapping, I was greeted by a beautiful fabric bound book, somewhat thinner than expected but with large A4 sized pages. The pages themselves are a silky thick paper, and the text is a beautiful printed gold color, which just make the book ooze elegance and style.

After you turn a few pages, there is a page on which you can write who the book is to and from and also an optional message, which I thought was nice and means it would make for a beautiful present to a loved one. There a few pages describing the book, the author, and the history regarding the Kama Sutra; then you arrive at the neatly arranged contents pages, which give simple and to the point page titles.

The first part of the book, aptly named Part one, covers the love principles, which pose ideas and advice for those wishing to study the Kama Sutra, such as “stay away from women who have psychiatric problems and contagious diseases,” which made me giggle. The chapters are intended to make you use your imagination and give you information you never knew that will help you become successful in love and life.

For those people who think the Kama Sutra is just an illustrated sex position book, you are very wrong. This book is so much more; it deals with relationships, managing your money, confidence, and so much more. It truly is a very good read from cover to cover, and although some of the topics are common sense, many people will learn a good few things from reading this book.

So, onto the famous illustrated sex positions, which in this book appear in part 8, conveniently after the chapter on how to attract others. I have to say that the diagrams are truly beautiful and are shown in the original Indian style. Each illustration has its own page and an adjacent description, so you can fully understand how each position works. Because of the size of this book, it’s not something you can easily carry around with you for reference on the go, but more is something to read a bit of each night before bed.

It's evident this book is directed towards heterosexual couples; however, same sex couples could also enjoy reading this book and apply some of the practices and teachings to their sexual lives too.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Kama Sutra Book and would recommend it to everyone, whether they are in a relationship or not, because it is so informative and beautifully written that it makes a great addition to any bookshelf.
