Lover's Weekend review

Lovers' Weekend is a nice gift book, but rather unimaginative in terms of spicing up your sex life. It does contain a great section on kissing!

extremely useful review
Lovers’ Weekend|Lover's Weekend is a cute little book with cute little illustrations that reminds me of one of the little gift books they have on display near the checkout sections of most bookstores. It might make a nice gift for an anniversary or wedding shower if you do not want to spend a lot of money. Still, I think this book is overpriced for what you get.

The book is only 63 pages, and took me about 15 minutes to read. There are some decent if uninspired suggestions about arranging an atmospheric romantic space, flirting, giving erotic massages, and two romantic games. However, this book is hardly going to set anyone’s sex life ablaze.

The illustrations are plentiful, highly stylized, and colorful. They are more for decoration than instruction, though. On the plus side, they do not look like they will be dated quickly because of their style.

The writing is clear, concise, and tasteful, and I did find the book pleasant to read. It just does not impart that much useful information. The book does have a fairly excellent section on kissing, though—nothing earth-shattering, but it does have some nice ideas and suggestions for spicing up this basic romantic/erotic activity.

The main focus of the book is really on setting aside time and energy for each other, and thus I believe it would be appropriate for opposite-sex or same-sex couples. There are no new and exciting sexual positions to try, no tips on giving your partner the orgasm of his or her life—just basic instructions to set the scene and enjoy each other.

Lovers’ Weekend is primarily an inoffensive gift book for those who want to spice up their romantic life a bit without being offended by hard-core material. It is not a bad book; I just think it is overpriced for the information it contains.
