The Multi-Orgasmic Woman Book

This is a wonderfully unique book; it is different from any other book I’ve read on the subject of sexuality or female orgasms. It is full of information from both a scientific perspective (I was fascinated by the explanation of why, on a chemical level, orgasms make us feel so good!) and a Taoist perspective (there is a lot of discussion of how to harness one’s chi). What makes this book great is that, for the most part, it maintains a very accessible, easy-to-read tone even while talking about anatomical structures of the human body and Taoist ideas about energy channels. There are times when the discussions of life force got a little confusing for this Western-medicine-oriented reader, but those times were relatively few. The overall tone is clear-headed, non-judgmental, and encouraging. There is a strong emphasis on developing self-knowledge and on loving yourself, which I read with enjoyment and interest. "The Multi-Orgasmic Woman" offers a series of breathing exercises and physical movements that the authors recommend women practice in order to direct their energy channels and enjoy orgasms that make them feel fabulous! I really appreciated the authors’ discussion of “typical” orgasms versus “deep” or “expanded” orgasms; I have always felt that there were different gradations to my orgasms but had never known if that was a normal experience to have. What I appreciate even more than their discussing these different types of orgasms is that the authors note that following their guidelines will help the reader to have the “deep/expanded” orgasms more frequently. I’ve only just started doing these exercises, so I can’t say yet whether that promise will prove true, but I’m looking forward to finding out! And what I can say thus far is that the exercises are a great way for me to relax my body, get myself in the mood to masturbate, and let go of tensions and anxieties that sometimes can get in the way of pleasure.
