Nina Hartley’s Guide To Strap-On Sex by Adam & Eve

This DVD caught my eye because the cover looks like a fabulously naughty flick starring Anne Margaret in her Bye Bye Birdie days (meow!), and because I love strap-on sex and wanted to learn some new tricks and tips. I popped it in the DVD player when I was alone (just in case I liked that Anne Margaret idea a little too much) and selected "play" from the professional-looking menu.

Nina and her playful friend Mika start off by chatting up what a strap-on is, what kind of materials they are made of, what a harness is, and how to purchase all of these items in a style that is right for you and your partner. The information was accurate and comprehensive enough even for the first time shopper.

Next, the gals move into the demonstration room. Now that we know what kind of equipment to buy, Nina is going to show us how to use it properly. Yippee! Nina starts with some foreplay to warm Mika up, all the while discussing safe sex practices. At first, it is odd that Nina is talking so matter-of-fact-ly while she has her gloved fingers inside Mika's vagina; but you eventually get used to the format and learn much from this live action lesson.

Nina and Mika then demonstrate a myriad of vaginal and anal positions while grinning sheepishly at each other like two school girls in the broom closet. These demos are very thoroughly explained and should be easy to replicate in real life.

Next, there is a demo of a woman using her strap-on on a man. This isn't like the Nina/Mika episode--it's pure sex with badly written dialogue. It does, however, show women positions and techniques to use on men--you just have to be a visual learner. For you gay men out there, I don't know if these same anal positions would apply to you (although I assume you could get something out of it), but this might not be the video for you boys to learn much of anything (boo hoo!).

Ooh--time to explore the special features! Well, if you are looking for a section of this video to just get hot to, then I recommend the Photo Gallery. There's no talking--just flashes of erotic pictures from the various interludes. The Interview and Behind the Scenes sections do give even more information about strap-on sex, so they should be viewed as well.

All in all, this video (Nina Hartley's Guide To Strap-On Sex) is wonderfully sex positive, cool about safe sex, funny, hot and informative. I would watch it again just for fun or with a partner. I want Nina and Mika to come and play at my house!
