On Our Backs: Volume Two review

Ok, I confess; this has been a hard review to write. It's because I haven't finished the book yet. I can't; it's just too good to consume all at once! I want these stories to last for a long, long time. The stories in On Our Backs Volume 2 run quite the gambit. In the introduction, the editor states that the stories were specifically chosen because "not only do they set [her] knickers on fire," but they also "celebrate dyke sex in all its forms." Sign me up.

I love erotica, but only if it surprises me. I've been reading erotic stories for years, and frankly, it gets a bit boring. It's just that very little erotica surprises or challenges me - there is so much of it out there that is just so bland and so cliché. The collection "On Our Backs volume 2" has both surprised and challenged me; I pretty much love it.

There's a raw energy that courses through these stories; they speak so clearly of the ache that comes just before sex, the ecstasy of that first touch and the raw joy found in satisfaction. There is a story to each tale, and the authors are all talented enough to tell that story amongst the pulsating pussies and strap-on dildos. This is truly a quality collection. There is no banality; nothing is tiresome or dull. This stuff is original, from the heart and really, really hot.

Languidly reading and savoring the stories allows for an easy and delicious buffet of girl on girl action. The editor has done a good job with ordering the stories - it never gets repetitive. The variety in the stories is also impressive - the book truly does show case dyke sex in its many wonderful forms. Stories range from vanilla sex between long term lovers, to drag kings fisting gay men, and everything in between. There is, of course, a common theme to all stories - lots of girl on girl sex.

I have been surprised a few times at how hot I find some of the stories. Images of the stern chef, the leather daddy drag king, and the beautiful and mysterious shoe fetishist flood my subconscious, fuelling my fantasies. I'll re-read the ones I find the hottest, just to freshly capture the image in my mind. This is, without a doubt, excellent erotica. I of course give this collection five stars.
