Once Upon A Time, Everybody Got A Very Happy Ending

Unfortunately, if you're looking for all your favorite fairy tales reworked into awesomely kinky and sexy stories, this isn't it. There are a few stories that are obviously based on some classics, and a few that just have more of a fairy tale feel to them. Not all of them will get everybody all hot and bothered, but it's still a good read nonetheless.

About author

Fairy Tale Lust was edited together by Kristina Wright, and features a number of different authors that as I delve more into erotica, I'm becoming more and more familiar with. This book features stories from Delilah Devlin, Andrea Dale, Craig Sorenson, Justine Elyot, Louisa Harte, Alegra Verde, Janine Ashbless, Shanna Germain, Allison Wonderland, Kristine Wright, Jeremy Edwards, Aurelia T. Evanse, Carol Hassler, Saskia Walker, Alana Noel Voth, Michelle Augello-Page, Charlotte Stein, and A.D.R. Forte.

At the end of the book, there's a few pages about each of the different authors, as well as a page about the editor.

Content / Style / Audience

18 stories, all derived from and inspired from the fairy tales we all grew up loving, only now they have a sexy twist. While each story is written wonderfully and reads very well, not every story is all that heavy on the sex. I mean yes, there are definitely sexual aspects to each story, but some stories seems more focused on the story itself, with the sex just happening to also be there. A great example of this is Gingerbread Man, where a woman believes she's going insane mourning the death of her husband, as she wakes up one morning to discover that she has created a life size model of him from gingerbread dough. He becomes real, but yet not, and while they do have some nice sex, I would classify this one more as a love story than anything else.

A few are easily recognizable as being just a sexier twist on the original fairy tale, but the rest are more modern adaptations with a paranormal, fairy tale feel to them. There's a hint at bestiality in the excerpt of Big Bad Wolf, some hard hitting BDSM in The Stone Room, and some awesome shoe, and love, making in Ellie And The Shoemaker.

If you're looking for something that's going to get you hot, hard, and wet right away, you might want to keep looking. However the stories are all still worth reading if you'd rather let your imagination do some of the work.

Design

Well, it's a paperback book. Standard issue paperback cover and all that jazz. Not too big, easily tucked into a large purse or other bag. If you're really rough on it, it's gonna tear, but otherwise you shouldn't really have any problems. As far as how discreet it is, well, much more so than some other books I own. I had it at work with me and it was out on the desk when someone walked by and I didn't catch any odd looks toward it. Both the front and back seem more on par with a romance novel than a collection of erotica.

Experience

My personal favorite stories in this book were actually the ones that focused less on the sex. Gingerbread Man was one of my favorite because I can definitely relate to that overwhelming feeling of love, and in her position, I might honestly do the same thing. (I can only hope and pray for the same results however). Frosted Glass caught my eye as another one that seemed more about the story than the sex, but I loved it all the same.

It took me a while to get through the book, even though it's pretty short, but it's nice to sit down and read just a story or two, then come back later. Some stories I might end up skipping in the future, and a few I wouldn't mind reading a longer version of. But even if I didn't get all hot and bothered by every single story in the book, I still really enjoyed reading every single one.

Thanks for the great review. You really did a good job in describing what types of stories to find in it, as well as what not to expect. I think I may have to check this one out myself
