Please, Sir - Nothing to write home about

Other than a story or two, this book did little for me. Most stories left me wanting (and not in a good way) and they seemed unfinished, or stopped before anything really got started. There is a very wide variety of content and situations, so in a sense, something for everyone. But for me this meant there were more stories that did nothing for me and only a few that did. There is nothing wrong with the writing, just the content.

Content / Style / Audience

Content
The content as mentioned before is varied, covering stories of 24 hour power exchange to couples playing out scenes. There are stories about Brats, Daddies, Pets and Sluts so it gives you a real mix of situations, people, fetishes and dynamics. All the writing is a high standard and I never found any of the stories hard to follow or read. The stories range in length from 5 pages and up to 13 pages like Charlotte Stein's Pleasure Keeper.

Style
The stories are all written as first person narratives and are all from the point of the submissive partner. This method lets you in on the thought process, the desire, struggle and surrender of the sub. All the stories are situated around a female submissive and male dominant. Most are based in long term relationships, while a few are based on first encounters such as Power of Power by Emerald.

Audience
This book of erotic short stories is aimed at women, though will also appeal to men who enjoy fetish situations that involve submissive women and dominant men. It covers a few individual fetishes as well, such as erotic asphyxiation, rope and bondage, spanking, pets and brats. One example which features brats is Lil' Pet Brat, aka Lily Guangli by Kissa Starling

Personal comments

I think it’s important to first state that my husband and I are not in any formal BDSM relationship.

I don't call him Sir and his doesn't refer to me as his slut.

I enjoy reading BDSM stories and erotic fiction online, I love being spanked with my husband's calloused hands and lightly tapped with the riding crop, I like being called both a good girl and a dirty girl. I love being told how to touch myself and what to do to my husband. I get blindfolded and tied up every now and then.

There is no rhyme or reason, no rules, no formal punishments.

Experience

This is my first BDSM erotic fiction purchase, and over all it hasn't impressed me much. The stories that aroused me are few and far between and most stories will leave readers wanting at least another page, if not more.

The writing is professional and the editing is expert.

Its not that I am turned off by any of the story plots, its simply that they aren't long enough to get my juices going.
The one story that got me going enough to help me achieve orgasm is basically my secret fantasy (that I haven't even shared with my husband, until now) in written word.

It hasn't put me off of buying erotic fiction; I might just stick to specific fetish fiction like spanking or general/romantic erotic stories.
