Advanced Sexual Techniques and Positions review

When I received notification that I would be receiving the Better Sex Series- Advanced Techniques and Positions, I had mixed feelings. Yes, I'm old fashioned and no, I've not watched porn of any degree, so I was wondering how I would feel about watching this one. Once it arrived, I took on the task. Initially, when the introduction speaker started talking, I though "he's sitting there reading from a script." His voice was monotone and exhibited no emotion. I knew if the whole film was like this, I'd be asleep before it ended. However, things did get better.

The next phase was basic information about the body and anatomy. For me, it was boring and repetitive. But, because I have taken college course on this, it might not be so boring for others. I was disappointed that this was included in a film regarding Advanced Techniques. I felt like by this point, people watching this version should already know the basics.

I did like the section on foreplay, even though, again it was the basic information. It is a reminder of how important kissing and touching can be. The section on massage was very good. There were other sections that were interesting but not very much new information. The section on positions, which is what I thought the whole thing was about, was the last section and rather brief.

A lot of the film was about talking and communicating, which is something I think my husband and I could work on. However, we didn't need a film to tell us this. Having been married for 23 years, we take things for granted and really don't talk very much about sex or while we're having sex. This might be an area we can use to improve things.

I did like the couples the film used. I was glad to see that there were several older couples, not all 20 year olds. Much of the talk between the couples seemed to be rehearsed speeches and not spontaneous.

Overall, I give this film 3 stars. While it was entertaining after the introduction, it did not provide much new information. My husband and I will probably watch the film again and maybe incorporate some of the techniques and positions into our sex life, but overall, it was just ok, nothing to brag about.
