Sexy Photography

The Mammoth Book of Illustrated Erotic Women is just a huge book of pictures. The book is definitely pretty fat, and you easily get over 700 pictures of different women in varying states of dress.

extremely useful review
"The Mammoth Book of Illustrated Erotic Women" is a huge book of photography of semi-naked women. The book is not really coffee-table sized. Instead, it's actually pretty short and squat while being really thick. (About two inches thick while being seven inches tall and five inches in width.) The book is softcover and includes full-color photography pages on the inside. The book has 480 different pages with no specific chapters or anything. The index at the front of the book lists the different photographers, but aside from that, the pictures aren't sorted in any manner. The book is full of pictures of naked women, so this book isn't exactly a book that you could read in public.

The book features a ton of different women. I mean a *ton*. Some of the women are completely naked while some of them are wearing some sort of clothing. Some of the shots are artistic while some of the shots are just there to show off the naked body. However, all of the women are of the slender body type; there aren't any plus-sized bodies in this book. Most of the women's breasts seem to be completely natural, and pubic hair varies. Some women have pubic hair, some are shaved, and a couple have untrimmed pubic hair.

I don't know how I feel about the pictures included in the book. Most of the are relatively modern (90s and 00's), but I just feel like the picture quality is lacking. When you consider how many pictures are in this book for the price, that makes sense, but I feel like it did detract away from the original photography included in the book. The pictures were a bit grainy. Some of the pictures took up the full page of the book, but a vast majority were just really small as a small picture shown in the corner of a page. There was definitely a lot of white space in the book. However, each page has at least one picture (sometimes two little corner pictures), so you easily get over 700 different pictures in this one book.

I wish they would have chosen to do something else for the size of this book though. Because it's so thick, you can't really just flip through pictures and look at them like you can with other books. Instead, you have to physically hold open the book with both hands to keep it from closing shut on you. It's definitely really thick, and sometimes, it can be a pain to try and see details that are located near the spine of the book on the pictures because of the extreme curve of the "spine".

However, the pictures included are definitely sexy. There aren't any fetish photos; the majority of these are just artistic pictures of naked women. It's actually neat to flip through since all of the pictures are different. Some girls have a "punk rock" style while others are made in a pin-up manner. Some photographers used hard light while others are romantically lit. Some of the photos are suggestive while others are blatant. The only constant is that this book is made up entirely of photography of women; there is no pictures of men or women with men. Most of the women pictured are not engaging in sexy acts at all; they're just standing around looking beautiful.

In case you are a photography lover, this book does include information about the photographers. In fact, the pictures are sorted by photographer. There's a Table of Contents near the beginning that will allow you to see the page of where each photographer's pictures start. On that "chapter" page, there's a short biography of the artist as well as a small artist picture and a sexual picture as well. After that, there's no more mention of the artist. The artist bios are also the only text you'll see in this book. The pictures do not have captions.

Overall, the book ends up being a good book of pictures. It isn't amazingly high-quality, but for the price, you end up getting over 700 pictures of beautiful women, so it's hard to argue with that. I feel like the thickness of the book ends up becoming a problem with easy browsing, and the quality did suffer a little bit, but overall, The Mammoth Book of Illustrated Erotic Women is just a large book of pictures of sexy women.
Follow-up commentary
It's still an okay book, but none of the pictures really "wow"'ed me enough to take out this book on a regular occasion. I still remember that I have it, but nothing from the book has really stuck with me.

Thanks, Kayla. It sounds a little repititous. I like to see people, men and women, in all body shapes sizes and colors.

Were women of Color and Latina and Asian women represented well?
