Silly storyline, sexy scenes

This is a pretty typical porn title, with a light plot and restrained (yet hot!) sex scenes. It's great for those who like a bit of plot and plain vanilla M/F sex.

Girl Talk has a silly plot, but it's watchable. It's one of those ones where the story is so (intentionally) bad that it's funny. The idea is that two men dress up as women in order to see what exactly women talk about when guys aren't around, but instead find out that there's not so much talking, but plenty of fucking. This kind of plot is hard to do well, but Girl Talk manages to pull it off by not taking it too seriously but at the same time not playing up the humor too much.

The actors all deliver their lines competently, with Kayden Kross, Mick Blue, and Scott Nails doing a great job with the humor. It's obvious that no one could possibly mistake the guys for women, but within the context of the story the women fall for it, which makes for some pretty funny situations as the men constantly sit with their legs apart, forget to speak in their "female" voices, and make other obvious mistakes.

All five sex scenes are M/F. Surprisingly, there's no girl-girl action in this film. The scenes are somewhat repetitive in the sexual acts involved, but they're all pretty entertaining. Nothing too hardcore, but it's no snooze-fest, either. It's all pretty standard vaginal/oral fare, but Kayden's blow jobs are a wonder to behold.

Actors

Female cast: Kayden Kross, Lily LaBeau, Sara Stone, Loni Evans
Male cast: Toni Ribas, Manuel Ferrara, Charles Dera, Scott Nails, Mick Blue

There are no non-sex roles; everyone listed above performs in one sex scene, except Kayden Kross who appears in two scenes. The scenes break down as follows:

Scene 1: Kayden Kross and Toni Ribas
Scene 2: Lily LaBeau and Manuel Ferrara
Scene 3: Sara Stone and Charles Dera
Scene 4: Loni Evans and Scott Nails
Scene 5: Kayden Kross and Mick Blue

Kayden is great in both of her scenes. In the first scene she really has to do everything; Toni Ribas doesn't seem to make much of an effort. But Kayden clearly enjoyed making the scene, and she really makes it worth watching. The middle three scenes are all pretty average. The sex is pretty much the same in all of them, but there's a bit of variety in body types, which is nice. The last scene, with Kayden Kross and Mick Blue is absolutely great, and is well worth the price of the DVD all by itself. I thought the chemistry between these two was especially strong.
    • Good acting / chemistry
    • Good presentation
    • Hot scenes

DVD Features

There's a fun behind-the-scenes feature. It's better than most, and I wish it had been longer. You can really see how much fun these guys had making this movie. Otherwise, you get the normal gallery of still shots of the performers, plus a selection of trailers for other Digital Playground films. The menus are all well-produced, with a useful chapter index, but it's all perfectly standard for any DVD release these days.

The packaging is well designed, with a gorgeous cover and a nice collection of action shots on the back. The female performers are all identified in the photos on the back cover. A brief plot synopsis gives an overview of the story, and names most (but not all) of the male cast, which is nice.
    • Attractive design
    • Not very discreet packaging
    • Special features / bonus included

Personal comments

Everyone in the cast is good looking and performs well, with Kayden Kross earning her top billing. I watched this movie in HD, and in my opinion anyone with an HDTV should watch the Blu-ray copy if at all possible. This movie looks great in HD. Not only are the performers beautiful, but the set is great and the lighting and camera work are excellent. Digital Playground has really figured out how to make porn work well in HD.

My only gripe is that the audio could have been better. I do appreciate the realistic audio, where you can hear what the performers are doing, but there's some distracting noise from the couch in the last scene. This could have been cleaned up during the audio editing, and it's surprising to find this sort of faux pas in a Digital Playground film. Luckily it gets better after the first few minutes of the scene, but it continues to be a minor annoyance throughout. Encountering messing up audio in what was otherwise the best scene of the movie for me was a disappointment.
