Daily Sex - book discontinued by Warner Books - review by SneakersAndPearls

I will start by saying that this book is made to be a day-by-day instructional text on what to do/try each day. The format is very simple and easy to use. It starts with a brief (6 pages) introduction on how to keep sex interesting and how to use the book. It then jumps right into the day-by-day tutorial.

Instead of starting with January 1st, it lists the first entry as Month 1, Day 1, so you don't get any sort of odd feeling about starting part way through the book to coincide with a specific date and then forget where you started.

The entries themselves are really nothing that is going to take you by surprise. Mostly, they are new spins on positions and activities that you already know. Some examples are having BOTH partners blindfolded instead of just one, laying at a different angle than usual, sitting sideways or bending your legs in a different way than you've tried before. Nothing about the book's suggestions are particularly shocking and won't leave you with the feeling that you are reading porn disguised as information. Sometimes just that little change can take a position or activity from "ho-hum" to "oh, wow!"

There are no photos of any of the positions in the book. Instead, they have artists' illustrations, which, to be honest, sometimes look more humorous than sexy. At times they look disproportionate to each other or amateurish, but they do get the point across of what they are trying to explain. It makes it easy to skim through and skip the positions that you know don't work for you. For a few of them the man's penis has to be a certain length or it won't work.

One of the things I really love about this book is that on each activity there is a little drawing of a thermometer that says cold, warm, hot and sizzling. The fun thing about these is you can fill in the thermometer to remember what parts of the book were fantastic, which were turnoffs, and which were somewhere in between. Since everyone is different, not everyone is going to like everything presented here. The thermometer is a great way to keep track of what you love.

I've had this book for quite a while now and haven't tried every single thing in the book. Hubby and I tried to do each activity in the order that the book said, but it ended up feeling too much like a homework assignment. Not only that but a few of the positions are physically impossible for us. For the most part we use the book when we are bored. It's easy to declare that you want to do something different, but hard to figure out what. In those cases we pull out this book, flip through it, and find a few things we'd like to try. Instant spice up.

After owning this book for a few months, our feelings on it haven't changed. We still use it only when we are feeling bored and want to try something new, not for a day-by-day sex guide. Some of the entries just seem silly to us, some would be impossible for us to do, but there are a few that we've added to our repertoire.
