Surprisingly much better than the first book—give it a chance!Eventful and engrossing, there's actually a developed plot, and visible character dynamics in this second installment of the Fifty Shades series. Even if you were discouraged by the first book, I think you should give the sequel a chance, because I'm so, so glad that I did.
Deep emotions; Character development; Darker, more alluring, and more thrilling than the first book
Placid sex scenes; Stiff dialogue; Exasperating narrator
Follow-up commentary 3 months after original review
While I haven't actually gone back to read this series, Book Two is definitely the one that still stands out to me, mostly because of one heartbreaking scene that made me rate this 4 stars (rather than the usual 3). I still think this book is the best in the series, but don't like it enough to reread.
