First, let me get this straight: This book is very Basic, with a capital letter. It's aimed at the woman who may have not even heard of BDSM before being given this book, but it is QUITE useful to those who've already held interest in the lifestyle, nonetheless. While it focuses on the heterosexual couple, each of these chapters could also be applied to alternative couples with some minor tweaks to the more genitalia-based sections.

The first few chapters start out slow, giving a thorough explanation of the psychology of submission and why one might want to dominate their man and also easing the more reluctant into the world of kink instead of thrusting you in headfirst. It starts out very nonthreateningly, explaining things in a very romanticized light. Later chapters give examples of technique, such as for queening, humiliation, sissification, and more, all accompanied with more useful explanations of the goings-on in a male submissive's head. I was quite surprised by the range of fetishes covered: shaving, feet, watersports, adult babies, and even more! As basic as this book started out, I didn't expect it to also delve so thoroughly into more advanced fetishes like enemas, but I'm pretty happy with how well it explains each technique, fetish, and motivation, the whole while continuing on in its light tone.

It also goes into some of the less sexual techniques more rarely considered when learning to be a Mistress, including stage dressing and props, and it ends with a list of 10 Rules for a Successful Mistress. Everything it mentions is important to a scene, and it does not waste a single paragraph. Every sentence is dripping with useful information; you will NOT find any padding here.

All in all, I would highly recommend this book to anyone curious about BDSM, topping, or just looking to try out new kinks, especially those who are (or have a partner interested in) female domination.

You know I'm on the opposite side here but it sounds interesting none the less. Would a D/s relationship with the woman as a sub gain anything from reading this book?

Noira, yes, it most certainly would! The only chapters that wouldn't apply properly would definitely be the ones on genital play, but with some tweaking even those would work well!
