Tie me up!

So many people have become interested in bondage, but have no idea where to start. So, this book is definitely worth the money for someone who is just getting their feet wet, so to speak, when it comes to the world of bondage.

OK, so we all know that after Fifty Shades of Grey hit the book store shelves, bored housewives everywhere started thinking that it would be fun to explore the world of BDSM and had dreams of finding their own Christian Grey. But, where to start? How about with a wonderfully well written book on beginner bondage! It covers a few bases, safety first of all, some shibari knot tying (Japanese rope bondage), what materials to use and how to suggest bondage to a partner. Keep in mind the book is only 80 pages long and can be read from beginning to end in about an hour, depending on how fast you read.

Dare to Try Bondage has several diagrams of beginner knots and they are well drawn. There are both male and female subjects and I really liked that it made it seem more friendly for either sex. But, the more difficult one's can be a little hard to follow and I also was a bit disappointed when one of the sketches showed a particular position, but there was no instruction on how to tie the knots. This is in no way a step-by-step guide to full-on bondage, but for someone just starting out, I suggest giving it a look. Even for the seasoned veteran of bondage/BDSM, there are some great points and suggestions in the book. It makes a great pocket guide to trying a few new things and even covers bondage on furniture, which I found to be a plus.

Overall, there were some things I think could have been done differently with the book, but I still loved it and I think it's a great way to introduce my husband to a world that I have already been a part of for quite a while. I'm thinking a few extra copies might find their way into wedding gifts.
