Sanatorium - dvd by Zero Tolerance - review by Shellz31

I was concerned about receiving the Sanatorium DVD set by Zero Tolerance, after viewing the online trailer which portrayed it as being full of horror. I actually enjoy horror movies but not in my porn and not torture done in bad taste. Even as a movie, this is not my type as the scenes are erratic and jump all over the place.


PLOT:

After giving a speech about banning porn, a scum-bag politician enters a hotel room where two women are waiting to put on a show for him. Afterward, Tabitha spills her whole porn life story with him. The scenes constantly flick back and forward from short clips of Tabitha's story to the hotel room. As well as having typical sex scenes, there are some rather disturbing images which ruin any possible arousal. One such scene takes place in a small rundown shack in the middle of nowhere. Tabitha watches from outside as someone is shot dead and another races out to vomit. This scene seems pointless. Tabitha then approaches her manager, stating she wants out of the porn industry but he insists on five more movies. She acts up for a photo shot out in the dessert, before returning to her hotel room where she tries to entice her camera guy friend to ‘fuck' her by sucking the younger guys penis. Tabitha again visits her manager who is annoyed by the lack of ‘tits and ass' in her photos. She tells him she is out of the business but before she can leave, he points to a TV screen. This shows a video of a female in a padded cell, wearing a straight jacket and mask. The metal torture mouth piece is widened electronically by pressing a piano key as Kelly moans in pain. The Manager demands Tabitha perform DP, anal, gangbangs and live web casting in seven days for her friends release. She is left in the dessert without food to live like a cave woman to save Kelly. She undergoes a journey through the dessert and returns to the rundown shack to find a naked murdered girl. Tabitha seems to go through some kind of mental breakdown as her manager performs a voodoo ritual. As the end gets nearer, there aren't a lot of sounds apart from the music and Tabitha telling of her story in between the sex scenes. As someone who has made porn her career, Tabitha is disheartened when her manager states, she is getting too old and people just want young porn stars. She then goes through her own torture until she learns not to allow ‘the corrupt' to control her mind. I'm not going to reveal the full ending as that's the surprise for anyone who decides to buy it. If you do, it's very easy to give up when it really starts to play with your mind, but it all falls into place if you persevere with it to the end!


FEATURES & ACTORS:

The first disc features the movie which can be played with or without the commentary. On the 2nd disc you're treated to the directors commentary, behind the scenes, bonus scenes, an interview with Tabitha Stevens and even a photo gallery.

PACKAGING:

Sanatorium arrives in a double DVD case featuring Sara Sloane, Kagney Linn Karter, and Tabitha Stevens on the front cover. On the back of the case are small clips from various sexual scenes. The case then sits in a large cardboard type of envelope which has a fold out stand if you wish to have it on show.

For me, one of the best scenes was the POV filming. Another good sex scene is the last one that finishes the movie. I'm not a fan of the kind of torture in this DVD so, had the sex scenes put me in the mood, they would have been killed by the disturbing images. The actors/actresses (except for Sara Sloane and Kagney Linn Karter) didn't do much for me. Most of the guys were, to say the least, rough around the edges and arrogant. Some of Tabitha's shots left a lot to be desired too. I'm unsure if the haggard looks of her were deliberately created with make-up or if they were just natural images. On the positive side, Tabitha does have an awesome figure and I really enjoyed the ending where all the craziness came together. It was just a shame about having to go through all the insane scenes to get to a good wrap up.

I could only rate this DVD 2 stars. For one thing, I believe it's advertised in the wrong category. It's a sadistic movie with some sex scenes.

Unfortunately this one this kinda creeps me out. Very few sex scenes actually started to arouse me but the creepy scenes still manage to kill the mood.
I'm just not into torture in any type of movie!

This one still isn't doing much for me.
