Anal Massage for Relaxation and Pleasure - dvd - review by Boxers Over Briefs

Anal Massage for Relaxation and Pleasure opens with a hell of a lot of didgeridoo, and some shots of anal massage being performed before cutting to the main menu which gives you these options: Rosebud Massage, Touching a Woman, Touching a Man, Prostate Massage, Vulva Anal Eroticism, Practical Anatomy, Anal Breathing, and Resources and Credits.

Unfortunately, I found only the first three options to be useful in any way. Prostate Massage and Vulva Anal Eroticism were simply glorified hand jobs with anal stimulation. Practical Anatomy was downright ridiculous in that it's a five minute video of a guy describing anatomy with his hands. There were no diagrams, illustrations, or anything useful, it was all anatomical charades. The Anal Breathing section suggests clenching your anus in rhythm with the breath, (which may in fact produce results with long and consistent practice, but is not something I can really speak to) and finally, Resources and Credits are exactly that.

I can understand why these sections were included, the information gives the viewer a good understanding of how to treat the anus and work it into erotic play. A lot of these things are straight from the basics though, and there are much better and cheaper ways to get information on these topics. In the end I felt that these sections didn't add much to the DVD's quality.

Now down to the meat and potatoes, the first three sections. The first section, Rosebud Massage, is a good section to watch first and last. It is fifteen minutes long, and this section is essentially a spark notes version of the next two sections, and provides a good overview and refresher should you need it.

Touching a Woman, and Touching a Man are by far the most useful sections in the DVD. Taught by Chester Mainard, they are each 55 minute long, full massage videos. Chester is down to earth, thorough, easy to understand, and occasionally funny, though the fact that these videos show an entire massage makes them long, and a little dull.

Through these two sections, however, he gives good advice for massage in general, as well as effectively addressing the unique safety, comfort, and cleanliness concerns of anal massage before diving into more specific techniques. My biggest complaint with these sections though is that it can be difficult to follow what the masseur is doing sometimes, given that some actions are hidden by the butt cheeks or because a motion might be inside the anus.

Everything that is done is also described, but visual aids are extremely helpful in learning this kind of material. Both of these sections are followed with an informative interview of the massage receiver, one of whom said something along the lines of, "usually in anal play, you just stick something in and go for orgasm. But anal massage allows a slow, and non-goal-oriented exploration of sensation," which I felt was accurate and really the best part of the anal massage techniques.
