Use

Rocket Balm is an ointment meant to be used to stimulate the penis. It makes a normal "jack off" session just a bit more stimulating and feels even better if your partner is involved. I have read that some women use this on themselves, but to be honest, I am pretty sure it is not supposed to be used on the sensitive skin of the vagina. Always up for anything, my girl tried to use a small amount on her clit and she enjoyed it for a few minutes. That was before she started to feel a burning sensation. This product is not so quickly washed off either, so I wouldn't recommend it. The first time we used this, we used it first during a hand job, but moved onto oral and intercourse. She hated the taste, but it wasn't bad enough to make her stop, though she is a trooper, and always ready to please me. This stuff did feel good on her vagina, giving a cooling sensation that she enjoyed, though she didn't get the burning. We think now that this may have had something to do with the fact that it was mostly rubbed into my skin by that time and she was also really aroused and wet, so any lingering balm wasn't enough to irritate her skin. This is why she thought it safe to try on her clit the next time, a mistake she didn't repeat. This is also why we have never dared trying this anally. However, we did find a similar balm made for women, called Flower Balm, that she enjoyed much better.

As for the safety of this balm, I am not entirely sure. The ingredients are as follows:
Beeswax, almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, menthol, peppermint oil, methyl paraben, bht (preservative), ginseng, wild oats extract.
Now, I have read that parabens can cause irritation in some who are sensitive to them. As for the oils, this would rule it out for use with condoms and certain toys as well. That being said, the oils make it feel really nice, so as long as you are just using this to "rub one out", you should be fine. The menthol and the peppermint oil is what makes this balm "tingle" and give that cooling sensation. Those who have experimented with "HALLS" cough drops during oral will know what this feels like on the genitals. I am going to assume that it is the peppermint oil specifically that cause the burning feeling on my girl's clit.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this stuff is odd at first. It's base is Beeswax, so it comes out much like a lip balm. You could scoop a bit out with a finger, or smear a finger around on the surface until it heats up and you get enough on your hands. This process takes longer and I tend to be a bit impatient, so I tend to scoop out enough with two fingers. Practice has taught me just how much I need, but you may want to start off light. You don't want to waste it, as the tin only contains 1 ounce of product. The first tin of this we got, I used it frequently and started to notice that it became grainier in texture. I figured it may be due to the fact that I didn't always wash my hands. I have become more aware of hygiene over the years though, and now I make sure I wash my hands before any sort of sex play, even with just myself. This seems to keep the balm from deteriorating and I am sure keeps it much cleaner. This stuff is greasy, but not as much as say Vaseline. It does have a lot of oil in it and will stain the sheets or your clothes. It's not too difficult to wash off, but it can take some time. Generally speaking, if you are careful about how much you use, it will be mostly rubbed into your skin by the time you are finished, so clean up is easier. If you use a lot and it only takes you a few minutes to get off, you may have to wash longer.

Taste / Aroma

Rocket balm mostly smells like mint and menthol. It reminds me of a regular cough drop, one with out any fruity flavor, or strong peppermints. It's not so strong as to give you a headache or make your eyes water, but it is definitely there. I didn't taste this, but my girl did. Though she didn't think it so awful that she had to stop what she was doing, she did ask not to have to do it again. She doesn't like really strong minty flavors, she is more of a spearmint kinda girl. Had it had some sweetener in it, she might have liked it better. She also didn't like the way it felt in her mouth. She compared it to medicated Chapstick of all things. While not horrible, it wasn't good either.

Performance

This product claims to get you aroused and keep you hard. I don't know if it does that, because I don't have problems in that area. I'm not trying to be "manly" here. If I noticed that it kept me harder or made me last longer, I would say it, but I didn't notice any difference in that way. What I did notice is that it feels really good and different. I mostly use this by myself, when I am wanting something different, but not wanting to deal with pulling out one of my toys. It's good for a quicker more intense orgasm than I would get from my hand and some lube alone. It lasts a good long time too. The first time I used it, I didn't wash it off all the way, just used a wet wash cloth. I could still feel the cooling from the menthol hours later, especially on my balls. It's kinda nice, but not knowing if the ingredients could cause irritation after awhile, I would recommend you use soap and water and rinse thoroughly. I love this product, and until we can find one that feels as good, but is better for oral, I will continue to buy it.

Follow-up commentary
I still use this balm often. We have to keep buying it, because I use more than I need to, but it doesn't cost that much. I have tried other stimulating lubes, but nothing feels the same. You can't go wrong with this one guys, so give it a try!
