A Beautiful Set to Spoil the Princess in Your Life

Overall, I think this is a really nice gift and is a great way to spoil someone. Some of the products are better than others, and not everyone will like the scents. However, there isn't a bad product in the set and certainly wouldn't be a bad choice to purchase and would make a great splurge.

Use

The Belleza box from Principessa is a cute little set which is perfect for trying out different beauty products in the principessa line. The set comes with several different pieces including a soy wax candle, hand cream, body lotion, a loofa, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. So as you can see, it comes with a little bit of everything so it is a great set to pick up to try out the Principessa line. The set is small and is the perfect size to use for travel. It is a set that would make a great gift for the woman in your life.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Each of the products had a thick, luxurious consistency and not watered down at all like many cheaper products are. They feel very concentrated so only a little bit of product is necessary. Because the products are so thick, you won't be able to pour any of the products. None of the products are sticky or greasy feeling. The shampoo and body wash feel very similar, so you will want to make sure you read the labal carefully to make sure the right product. They both feel thick and soapy. The conditioner is thick and creamy feeling and does feel like it would be very moiturizing. The body lotion and hand creme are both moisturizing, but the hand creme is quite a bit thicker and takes longer to absorb into the skin but neither feel particularly greasy.

Taste / Aroma

There are two scents in this set, I believe they are called Isolina and Bellocia. They are both quite strong scents and the scent will stay with you throughout the day.

According to Principessa the Isolina scent is a subtle, sexy and delicately sophisticated scent with a touch of whimsy. Top notes include violet leaves & mimosa (orange flower) blended with middle notes of rose petals & neroli. Heliotrope & precious woods round out this ultra feminine elixir that is best described as pureness in a bottle. Its an alluring blend of feminine, fresh, floral notes with hints of a powdery finish.

I felt Isolina was a very pleasant and feminine scent. It is definitely very floral and the rose scent stuck out most to me. I really liked the scent a lot and definitely plan on trying the perfume oil in this scent.

The discription of the Bellocia scent according to Principessa is as follows: If pink had a scent this would be it! Belloccia means irresistible in Italian and this seductively sweet concoction does not disappoint. Its both extremely luxurious and intoxicatingly delicious, opening with ethereal nuances of peach and vanilla flower, cascades into middle notes of night blooming jasmine and ylang ylang and bottom notes of sandalwood and warm amber dry down to a warm, sensual finish. This pure perfume oil is the ultimate treat!

The peach and amber scents stuck out most to me from this scent. It is VERY sweet smelling and was a little too sweet for me to enjoy. It didn't bother me so much that I couldn't use the products, but I will definitely not be buying more products with this scent.

Performance

Shampoo - The shampoo performed nicely for me. I have dry hair and I really liked that this shampoo didn't strip away all of the oils. It still left my hair feeling clean and smelling nicely. There are several types of oils added to the shampoo, which may make it too moisturizing for those who have naturally oily hair. It doesn't lather up as much as some shampoos which may lead many people to believe it is not cleaning well. This is not the case, the shampoo (and conditioner) is sulfate-free. Sulfates are what create the bubbles in most shampoos, but they also cause damage to the hair when used regularly and strip the hair of the oils it needs. If you would like more information about sulfates in hair products, here is an article that discusses it further.

conditioner - The conditioner was very nice and is one of the best conditioners I have used. It is what you might expect from a salon brand conditioner. It is very concentrated, so you only need to use a little bit of it. It left my hair feeling very soft after I dried it, and I could definitely feel a difference between how my hair felt after using this conditioner vs. my regular conditioner. Like the shampoo, the conditioner is sulfate free, and will be much more gentle and nourishing to the hair.

body wash - The body wash is very concentrated and you will only need to use a little bit of product at a time. The body wash leaves the body lightly scented, and doesn't dry out the skin but doesn't moisturize it either. It lathers up pretty well and cleans nicely and didn't leave me feeling dirty at all.

lotion - The body lotion was light, yet left my skin feeling moisturized. It left a strong scent that was still noticable a couple of hours later, but does not last all day. It absorbs well and does not sit on the skin for long, it may not me moisturizing enough for those with dry skin however.

hand creme - The hand cream was a bit thicker than the lotion and seems to penetrate more deeply into the skin than the body lotion does. It doesn't leave my skin feeling to greasy, but I believe that had to do with my dry skin and it being the dry winter months. It might be a bit too moisturizing to use in a humid climate and wouldn't absorb as easily. It would be great to use on dry patches of skin like the elbows and knees as well as the hands.

candle - The candle was nice, but wasn't anything spectacular. It is a soy wax based candle which is nice because it produces less soot than a traditional candle. Soy candles also will burn more slowly and can last a lot longer than a traditional candle as well. The candle burnt probably about 12 hours for me (give or take a couple of hours, I didn't pay close attention). It definitely filled the room with the bellocia scent and might have even been a little too strong.

pouf - The shower poof is a good quality loofah. It performs just as well as similar loofahs you might buy at a beauty store or drugstore. It foams up the body wash well and works better than a washcloth to create foam. Loofahs shouldn't be kept for too long though because they tend to gather bacteria, so be sure to replace it regularly.

Packaging

The packaging was very cute and girly. It comes in a sturdy pink box which clasps shut very secerely and has a metal and plastic handle that can be used to carry the box. It is perfect for gift giving as well as storage of small items. The box also seems to be lightly perfumed with a floral scent. There are no instructions or lists of ingredients on the box itself, but this information is included on each of the plastic, individual bottles.

Personal comments

As with any skincare product, there is always the possibility of allergy concerns. This set contains many natural ingredients, some organic ingredients, some synthetic ingredients, and perfumes. Any one of these could be a concern. Not all of the ingredients are vegan friendly which may be an issue for some users.

A patch test is always a good idea when trying a new product for those with sensitive skin and allergies.

Experience

I was so happy to get this set to review. I had a very stressful week prior and getting this set was the perfect way to unwind with my own little spa day. The products worked wonderfully and really made it easy to relax and truely feel pampered. I especially like the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and will definitely be purchasing full sized bottles of each of these. I don't know if I would have paid the full price for this set as it is kind of pricy, but I am pleased overall with the set.
Follow-up commentary
This kit didn't last too long, but I definitely enjoyed it a lot. I still think it would make a great gift or travel kit. The scents won't be to everyone's liking, but the products are nice and worked well for the most part.
