Use

Boost is a lotion that is great for your hands and body. It is easy to use and feels great. At 90% paraben-free, you are getting a lotion with a lot less scary stuff in it; when broken down most of the ingredients are from plants. In fact, 97% of the ingredients are natural---the other ones are mostly fluffier and things to make sure it is in a thin liquid form so it can easily be applied.

EOS stands for Evolution of Smooth. They sell mostly lotions and lip balms and have a very small selection of products. They try to specialize in certain things to give you the best they can.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It goes on velvety but doesn’t leave your skin greasy or heavy. There is no added dye for color, and it is completely hypoallergenic.

Ingredients: Water (eau), Glycine soja (Soybean) oil, mineral oil (huile minerale), cocoglycerides (derived from coconut oil), glyceryl stearate (glycerin and stearic acid), dimethicone (type of silicone oil), petrolatum(soft paraffin), glycerin (polyol compound), cetearyl alcohol (a mixture of fatty alcohols), sodium stearoyl lactylate (salt based additive used as a replacer), cocos nucifera (coconut) seed oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (oil-soluble Vitamin C ester), tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E acetate), fragrance (parfum), carbomer (acrylic acid, used as a fluffer), methylchloroisothiazolinone (preservative with antibacterial and antifungal effects), methylisothiazolinone (biocide and preservative), dmdm hydantoin (antimicrobial formaldehyde releaser preservative), sodium hydroxide (lye and caustic soda), butylphenyl methylpropional (synthetic fragrance), coumarin (anticoagulant), hexyl cinnamal (synthetic scent), limonene (oil extracted from citrus rind), linalool (scent).

The texture is about what you would expect from a lotion; there is no grit in it. The color is white and milky and, like stated before, dye free.

Taste / Aroma

The smell of Boost is gentle: a mix of shea butter, vanilla and oats. It smells smooth and creamy.

You shouldn't try tasting this lotion or really any other lotion. It is not recommended for digestion, though it is non-toxic. If a large amount of lotion is ingested, it may have laxative effects.

Performance

Unlike those lotions that feel like they wear off after a short amount of time, Boost sticks with you and leaves you smooth. You can tell your skin feels moisturized, but not overly so. It goes on thin and velvety---because of the controlled pump action top you have very little need for clean up. The right amount pushes out without struggling to tap the bottom of the container upside down. Make sure you wipe the end clean so that there is no build up and blockage.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The container itself is 12 fl oz and made of HDPE (high density polyethylene) - which is recyclable, might I add! It carries the number 2 on the bottom, which means it has a low risk of leaching and can be easily recycled. On the back of the bottle it even has a small byline about recycling. It says; “Please recycle-good things happen to people who do.” It is pearl in color with brown text. It has pump action which is embossed with the company’s logo on the top (EOS). There is a small curve at the bottom on the front, for aesthetic purposes. Another great thing is it isn’t tested on animals, nor does it use any animal by-products.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Recyclable

Experience

I was on the fence about accepting this as a DR to be honest; I don’t have much luck with lotions not irritating me. The smell is always one of the biggest factors---I can’t walk through the perfume section at a store without immediately feeling headachy and sick. So I was pleasantly surprised when, upon using this, the smell was really subtle and nice. No headache so far, after a couple of days of using it! Another big issue I tend to have with lotions is that burning feeling you get, especially after shaving your legs and applying lotion. I didn’t have that problem with Boost, which was really kind of awesome. I for sure will continue to use it and try out the others in the line to see which one I like best.
