A little oil makes a lot of lovin!
Wonderful smelling candle. Lots of product is tucked into this delightful product. This candle is worth it's weight in gold. This would make the perfect special occasion gift. The way it leaves your skin feeling is comparable to a day at the spa, only cheaper! It's a great way to start your next romantic evening with your partner or to pamper yourself after a bath. This candle is amazing! My husband lit the candle about 20 minutes before I walked into my bedroom and when I walked in, I was hit with a wonderful vanilla smell! Just in the short 20 minutes, it put off a wonderful light vanilla scent that was romantic. We waited 30 minutes like the instructions suggested. It never quite melted to the edges in that time. Then again, we were impatient and wanted to play. The feel of the oil dripping on my back was so amazing! It wasn't overly hot! With these candles being made of soy they melt at a lower heating temperature. It felt nice and soft. Having him rubbing it on my back was like heaven. It wasn't sticky at all. The scent mixed with the massage made it even better! Each time he dripped the warm oil it sent that part of my body over the edge. It is great for reminding you there are other parts of your body that can be a turn on.
When it was my turn to rub on him, I was shocked! It seemed like he might have used all the melted oil but there was so much left! A little bit goes a long with way with this candle! A drip the size of quarter is perfect for a back. The more you use it you can adapt to the amount that is perfect for you. My hands didn't get greasy at all! They were so soft and I still can't get over the scent. The scent was gentle yet wonderfully amazing! The texture was like I poured oil from a bottle without the greasy feeling of using oil. It's like what liquid silk would feel like. I do have to say that this is not lube! It worked perfect for a handjob but we made sure his penis was cleaned off before intercourse. The Dark Vanilla candle is by far the best smelling vanilla product I have encountered. We didn't even have to reset the wick which is suggested afterward.
The next morning, I woke up smelling that heavenly vanilla smell and instantly thought my comforter was ruined. To my surprise it didn't transfer to the bed at all! We rolled around for a good 45 minutes and no got no stains on my comforter. I was impressed! The scent stayed with me all night after sweating and sleeping. This could be used as a wonderful treat for yourself. I would have to say this is great for solo play as well as couple play. This lovely candle in my opinion would last 2 months if used once a week. It's possible to go through this candle in 2 weeks. Mine is already gone as I fell in love with it and had to have it used every night. It came in this stone square which ended up being perfect for my rings. The candle itself was not overly large or extremely tiny. It's about 2.5 inches in height by 3 inches wide. Now do you see why it was perfect for rings? They created a perfect massage candle. I am in love with this candle and will be ordering more!

We have ordered this so many times! We have our friends ordering it! This is by far the best massage candle!!!! Never gets old and still gets used on a regular basis!

Well, first off, there are lots of threads on the scent of these candles already. But ignoring that, I think it's really up to your preference in smell.
In my experience, all the scents are fairly high quality, so it just depends on what you like. I personally favor the Dark Vanilla and Bourbon scents. My good friend prefers the Water Cucumber, while it is totally not for me. Some people love the Truffle Gardenia, but it's comparatively very floral. I would really like to try the Vetiver Honey in the ember series.
My recommendation would be to go with what is most similar to your usual favorite scent. Sweet edibles? Masculine spices? Flowers? Citrus? Or you could always try the sampler. More expensive but awesome :-) -

The special edition scents look tempting, but I would also like to make sure I purchase something both my partner and I would like. Also I kind of wanted to get a general sense of what is most widely liked. Which I feel I could have gotten with a poll, but unfortunately I am not sure how to do that. I did see a post explaining that to post a poll it the option is next to the post discussion option, but I have seen no such poll option.

I did a review on the Afterglow Sampler set, but this is what I have with the scents.
Cucumber Water smells like a crisp, clear, watered down version of a cucumber melon scent, and is quite possibly my favorite. Pink Lotus has a decidedly floral scent to it; not overpowering but definitely there. It's hard to pinpoint anything more specific than "floral" for me on that one. Truffle + Gardenia (the special edition one, also available as a regular Ember candle) is also hard for me to pinpoint. It smells like an earthy floral to me, a more involved scent. Bourbon smells sweet to me, almost like molasses or something else I'd bake with. Dark Vanilla still smells like a generic "vanilla cookie" scent to me. And Grapefruit. To me, there's a hint of citrus and a whole lot more of something I can't put my finger on. When I first smelled it I thought back to the Habanero + Grapefruit mini Ember I have, only this is a little less spicy to the nose. JJ claims notes of grapefruit, bell peppers, and mandarin for this one. -
Thanks! I think the ones I want to try most are Dark Vanilla, Cucumber Water, and the Truffle Gardenia... and the Bourbon. Jeez I want to smell them all. Choosing which to buy online is difficult but I'm sure whichever one I choose I'll love it anyway. =]

I was just curious - Jimmyjane has changed the style of the Afterglow candle to the "pour spout" that's rocked by the Ember. Is EF still selling the old style with the brush as indicated by the picture?
FYI I'm in favor of the pour divot format! -

The new version features a spout for easy pouring and that is what currently available on EF.
