Use

The Massage Oil Candle Variety Pack looks cute enough but it is really more of a hard core travel pack than a beginner candle set. The wax heats up to be very, very, hot, and when applied to the skin, makes a decent massage oil. Its real purpose, however, is to give the receiver that moment of hot stinging sensation followed by a relaxing massage. These candles are by far the hottest in temperature I have tried.

To use simply light the wick, wait about five to ten minutes, and pour the hot wax over your partner or yourself. Then, massage as you would with oil. Keep the wax away from sensitive areas such as the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and of course, the genitals. The heat and the ingredients could cause unwanted irritation.

The ingredients include: soy, glycine soja, shea butter, apricot kernel oil, and perfume (three differing types). If you are allergic to soy or apricots steer clear of this product.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

As massage oils from candles go, this is fair. The wax, when melted, feels as if a pure candle is being poured onto the skin. It does not harden like normal candle wax, but it is extremely thick. The texture is silky enough to make it pleasurable and it stays in place for hours. At the end of the massage, it begins to get a little sticky and sloth off in small clumps. A little messy if you ask me.

Taste / Aroma

This pack has three scents, apple, chocolate and chili, and chocolate and vanilla. The apple is by far the most refreshing scent and the one I turned to. The chocolate and chili carries a punch which was surprising. I had no idea that chili pepper could carry an aromatic punch. The chocolate and vanilla is really your typical chocolate scent.

The aromas are not strong at all. In fact, the two chocolate candles are a little too weak for my liking. Luckily, the apple is just perfect, not overbearing but strong enough to be pleasant.

Performance

As a candle in general, these little guys are weak. The wick is long enough but does not have enough fuel to really burn. The slightest breeze will blow the flame out if it does not go out on its own first. As far as the melting capacity goes, I give these candles 5 stars. Everything melted up nicely.

Now comes my pet peeve about this product. You can not move this candle around safely while lit. It's just too small and you risk burning yourself with the flame. Because I love to light candles in the kitchen and then take them to the room I want, this was a problem for me.

Longevity is short for these guys. These are one pop shots each. Each candle holds about enough wax for a single massage. Think of it as your travel pack instead of your long term go to candle.

Cleanup is a challeng. The wax will not come off with soap or scrubbing. You just have to wait for it to start to sloth off, which can take a while if you've used the entire tub.

Packaging

The packaging is really cute. Each candle comes in colorful (red, purple, and blue) cardboard covers, stacked in a clear, plastic box. The packaging makes travel and storedge super easy. The candles themselves are in thin, aluminum trays with a tiny little wedge on the side that serves as a handle. Each candle is covered by a paper cover that is peeled off.

These candles are not that discreet. They basically say what they are and scream romance enhancer.

Experience

I'm no longer a taken woman and had to figure out how to use these things on my own. Not really a problem, as I'm pretty adaptable. I lit one of the candles, soaked in the tub as it burned and enjoyed the wonderful scent. Then, I got out, blew out the wick, poured the wax over my body and just about jumped out of my skin. The wax was really hot! I turned a little pink from the wax but nothing harmful. I massaged my entire body and then tried to wash the wax off. After scrubbing for 20 minutes I was convinced that I had a new addition to my body. It began coming off right after my shower and continued the rest of that day. Rements were left on my legs the next morning.
