A mild, floral perfume
This was a neat item to try. I wore it with an open mind, but experienced no real "attraction" results. If you like light, floral scents - try this one out, but don't expect much more than that.Published: June 17, 2010
Pros:
It has a nice scent, floral, not over-powering.
Cons:
No real "pheromone" effect noted while wearing it.
I'm always open to trying new things. So when I saw a perfume that purported to be a vial of pheromones, I was intrigued. Seriously, who wouldn't want to have that extra bit of appeal? But while I liked the smell and my husband did too, there was no noticeable difference in my social interactions as a result of this mild, floral perfume.
Pure Instinct comes in a small cobalt-blue bottle, fully encased in a tamper-evident seal. The stopper has a small glass wand for application and just a small amount leaves you with enough fragrance to last about half the day. Since I only typically apply fragrance in the morning, I'm estimating that this bottle will last me at least six months if I wear it every day.
The scent is mild, which is to my taste since I deplore over-powering perfumes, and brings to mind sweet peas (the flower). As I mentioned earlier, my husband noticed the scent, commented on it and said he appreciated it. That was nice in and of itself, but aside from that one comment I have worn this in social gatherings of mixed sexes, to work and grocery shopping and not witnessed any increased sociability.
As for using this as a mood-enhancer - I'm afraid the product is more of a mellower when used for aromatherapy. Which made it wonderful when added to warm bath water.
Using this product made me more aware of how I pay attention to the world and how it reacts to me and have to wonder if that's why it worked for other people. I already love to chat with strangers and smile and be friendly. If a person who is a little less social than I am started to look around and pay attention to others (to see if they were "being effected"), maybe they noticed a few smiles that were there the whole time. Just a thought.
So, in this reviewer's opinion, if you're looking for a nice, mild, every-day perfume this is a great one. If you're looking for a love potion, you may want to try something else.

Follow-up commentary
13 days after original review
It's been a week or so now and I still like the light, feminine scent of this cologne. I've taken to dabbing a little on my pillows at night and it's wonderful in a bath. While I still haven't noticed a reaction from the public at large, my husband finds this perfume note-worthy and that's an attractant enough for me.

Thanks for the review!
Hmmm I think I like the sound of this stuff. Thanks for the review.
No problems... in fact because of my husband's appreciation for the scent it's my new favorite one to put on. You know some guys - even if they notice, they rarely mention it.
