A Pico Bong let down.

I’ve used a number of massage candles and had high hopes for this one, but over all felt let down by PicoBong. While the packing was convenient and attractive, I found the burn and the texture to be displeasing.

The smells are nice and not overwhelming. The packing is secure and attractive.
Cons
Wax doesn't burn well. Wax is slow to burn. Product leaves the skin feeling greasy.

Use

This product is used for external use only! It is a burn and use massage candle to be used alone or with a partner(s). My experience with this candle left something to be desired. I use massage candles for massage with my husband and apply as lotion after a bath. I found this candle to be not suitable for either use.

It takes a while for a pool of wax to form after burning. Normally with a slow burn I expect a wide burn, but this candle just “dug a hole” in a the wax. This is my biggest pet peeve for a candle, because I feel like it is wasted money, since I don’t melt down extra wax and make new candles. It also makes the candle unattractive during the burning the time. The Pico Bong travel massage candle doesn't provide a warm glow, but small bright burn. So if you want to use it to crate ambiance you might need a few actual tea lights to go with it.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is a thicker massage candle leaving a greasy and coated feeling on my hands after use. When applied it had a warm silky feel to it, but it began to dry very quickly and left behind residue. I had to wash my hands and my partner's back after.

Taste / Aroma

Scents
Coco/Chili – dry, syrupy. A very sweet dark chocolate or Caramel. I could not pick up on the chili.

Livin' La vida Coco- This scent was sweet, the vanilla is much stronger than the coconut.

Don't Worry Be Apple - This is a sweet apple cinnamon scent that isn't made sharper or dyer by the cinnamon. It reminds me more of baked goods!

The candle is soy-based, and made up of Glycine soja (soy wax), Butrosperum parkii (Shea butter), prunus armeniaca (apricot) Kernel oil, perfume

I wouldn't try to eat this.

Packaging

I find PicoBong to have very attractive designs and this candle is no exception. It is small (.5 oz ) and comes in a cardboard sleeve and the soy wax is formed into a small tea light with a peel away top. They are fantastic for travel and to go. Just toss a few in your bathroom bag or suitcase, they are not likely to break. The scents are light and attractive.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
