Bwarm - massage candle by B Swish - review by ladykay

Bwarm is a wonderful massage candle-- use it for sensual massage or a gentle introduction to wax and temperature play. I bought it for both of those reasons and loved it. This is a product for people who want to be pampered or want to pamper someone else. I think it would work for any couple. Just make sure you have time to spare while it melts-- a little patience is required, but the end result is so worth it.

As with any ordinary candle, be careful. Don't leave it burning unattended or near anything flammable. Keep it on a level surface. Test the heat of the wax on your arm before you put it anywhere more sensitive. If you have long hair, like me, I suggest tying it back (I had an almost-bad experience, in spite of being careful).

Before it's lit, Bwarm is smooth and soft enough to dent with a finger. It melts fairly quickly, though I was excited enough to try it out that I found it hard to wait :) Once it melts, the wax magically transforms into slippery massage oil. Well-- it may have more to do with chemistry than magic, but I was still surprised. For some reason I thought it would be thicker, more similar to regular wax. Instead, it was as thin and smooth as massage oil from a bottle-- but warmer and more fragrant. It poured very easily, almost too fast the first time. I was pleased that a little went a long way, and that after a few minutes of rubbing the oil was absorbed into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. I didn't feel like I had to shower after using this. In fact, I didn't want to, because the smoothness and the faint lingering scent were so nice.

I love the way this candle smells! I chose the Amber scent because I often don't like floral scents, and didn't want it to be too sweet. What I got was great-- a little sweet, a little spicy, a little musky. As soon as I opened the packaging I put this up to my nose and stood there smelling it. Now I keep it by my bed.

That said, it isn't a really strong scent. When the candle is burning or you're giving a massage, the scent is really nice. Afterward it fades pretty quickly, instead of lingering in the room. You can smell it on the skin of whoever had the massage, but not for long. The wax also leaves a little bit of a bitter taste on the skin it's touched, but it's very faint. It didn't bother me at all.

I've used this candle three times now, and each time it didn't take much oil for a nice massage (though they were back massages, not full body ones). This has made a dent in the candle, but it should last another-- ten uses? Fifteen uses? I can't estimate exactly, but it should last a while.

When using this for massage, I was pleased with how well it absorbed into the skin-- it didn't feel sticky or greasy at all. I didn't need to wash up afterward, but if you wanted to I think it wouldn't be hard to clean off the remaining scent or slickness.

I really liked the smell and feel of Bwarm, both for massages and for a little bit of temperature play. It works well for combining the two. For me, as a beginner, the oil was hot enough right after the candle was blown out to be exciting-- but cool enough that it didn't (quite) hurt. I would recommend it for beginners to both massage candles and temperature play and anyone who likes scents that aren't too sweet.

If I could change anything, anything at all about the Bwarm... I would make it larger. That's it.

The packaging of this product is very nice, but not exactly discreet. There's an outer black cardboard box with an artsy black and white photo of a woman showing some cleavage, next to the product name and a short description. On one side is a photo of the candle, with more product information on the back. Open this up, and you find a second black box with a shape scooped out that fits the candle exactly, cradling it. You could definitely store the candle in the packaging, though I keep mine by my bed because of the yummy smell. If anyone asks, I can always say it's for aromatherapy.
